Does anyone here have the script with them?

If you do, would you mind sending it to me? I'd love to get a look at it.

Characters:

Hal Jordan - I'd like to see more of Hal's "tough guy" side, showing how fearless he really is. I'd also like to see how family is important to him, especially the father, and how he are his relations with his mother (Who's alive), his brothers, his nephew, etc... And I'd like if some of his more slap-stick quips we're replaced by Hal's classical sarcastic one-liners. More "Insurance is not gonna pay for this" and less "Oh, man! That's such a waste" upon seeing his trashed car.

Carol Ferris - Carol is one of the most remarkable femele characters of the DC history, and I'd like to see more of that. Her storyline is pretty much her troubled relationship with Hal and her trying to sell the Sabre jets. The plot we're she's secretly running Ferris Aircraft upon her father's coma would fit perfectly in this, and would add more to her as character.

Tom Kalmuka - Tom is written as a over-the-top mid-20s Nerd. It's not that big of a deviation from the comics, but it can get toned down (No calling Hal in the middle of the night to say he beat Halo 3, No sadness because his videogame aliens seem like rip-offs know he has seen new ones, and etc.). He should be funny, but more responsible, as he is the Comics. I'd also like to have him as a mechanic instead of a computer programmer, but that's not that big of a deal.

Hector Hammond - Hector is a great character, but he seems kinda throwed in the Script to have an Earth-based villain. He's kinda unconsistent (One hour, he loves having powers, the next one, he says they've ruinned his life). He has great creepy/fun moments (His exchange with the congressman in the party is funny. :hehe:), but his storyline is kinda forced (He basicly bullies everyone arround him and seeks for his father's aproval). The mind-reading is good, but kinda conventional (He only decides to read peoples minds when they're thinking bad things about he). His connection with Legion is good, but I tough how it was worked was kinda dumb ("OK, Mr. Hammond, we found an dead alien, and we couldn't find any other legists, despite that we're a governmental organ, so, we're going to pick you because your father's a Senator, even tough you're just an FBI legist and kind of a prick..."). I think they should focus more on the "super-bully" aspect of him hurting people only because, well, it's fun, and less in the Father aspect. I'd also like to establish a better parallel between him and Hal than the Father angle (They could focus on the fact they're both avarage guys who, in the blink of an eye, are blessed with extraordinary powers, and how their different creations unfluence in their ways of using it, or the fact they're the encapsulation of the Willpower (Green) VS. Fear (Yellow) battle).

Helen Jordan - They kept Hal's mother alive in the Script, but didn't used far more than just a quick discussion and a slap. She being alive adds a whole more of dramatical matter to be used, and they misssed this good chance.

Jack Jordan - I'd like to see more of him, but since the movie is alredy pretty overcrowded, I understant why's he's a almost-cameo.

Jim Jordan - He's more featured in the Script than Jack, but they kinda switched their personalities. Jim is older than Hal, and it's not as "by-the-book" as the comics. He reminds me of Two and a Half Men's Alan, actually. :hehe:

Nathan Jordan - Hal's nephew. His name is Howard is the comics, but I think they changed to make him "cooler". He's not bad (Great interaction between him and Hal), but he get's kinda annoying when he becomes a GL fanboy.

Carl Ferris - I liked Carl's portrayal. Wouldn't change anything. :yay:

Senator Robert Hammond - Hector's father. Hector desperatily searches for his approval, but he's too much of a dissapointment for Robert. He's essencially a good supporting character, but his final line :hehe: ...

Jenna - Hot yoga instructor. I like. :woot:

Mothef***ing huge boyfriend - Funny. I'd laugh if he's credited like that in the movie. :hehe:

Vanessa - Hector's assistent. OK character.

John Broome - Hector's FBI boss. It's a classic "tough guy" who becomes Hector's human puppet because of the hard time he gave him before he gained powers. Good characters, but his final line...

Pipe - Badass. Would only change why he calls Hector for the Operation.

Sinestro - GREAT character. Sinestro got a top-notch development. I'd only tone down some of his outbursts and make REALLY hard to believe he's going to become evil. It's kinda evident in the Script.

Kilowog - GREAT character. Kilowog was also  portrayed. I only wished he had more screentime. Oh, and it's Hippo-like, not Rhino-Like.

Tomar-Re - Great character. Is more present then Kilowog! But they sorta mixed him with Salaak personality-wise.

Abin Sur - GREAT character. One of the best portrayas of the Script. Loved him. It would be cool if Amon appeared in his funeral. :yay:

Legion - Legion is a badass villain (His action scenes are :wow:), but I didn't liked how they put him in the Manhunter's AND Parallax place (Which is unnecessary, when whe get a Parallax nod lather on). The Tchkk-Tchkk storyline was pretty good. But seeing how it wraps everything together really nicely, I'm not against it. He's kinda like the Pirates of the Carribean Kraken. I like it. :woot:

The Guardians - The writers nailed the Guardians. They're perfect. I like how they talk threw tellepaty, like an Hive-Mind. I only wish we'd see Ganthed, but he can show up later on. :woot:

Those are my opinions. A+ Script.

Reading the Script again, something caugh my attention:

"But in that dark place, the Fear grew strenght. And form. And shape. And its rage was Legion".

Could Legion actually be the Fear's (Parallax) herald in his vendetta against the Guardians?

I thought you didn't want Parallax.

So what your saying is that Legion---> Paralax is equivalent to Fallen ---> Unicron

Yes.

And I like Parallax as a individual character. I just don't like possesed Hal destroying the Green Lantern Corps and becoming a villain. If Parallax was used in another way (Maybe possesing Sinestro and powering him up?), I wouldn't be against it.

could someone PM me a link to the newest draft out there? thanks.

the top dog told us that it's illegal and we can't do it (unless you want to get banned). sorry.

yea we cant pm scripts/other copyrighted materials any more, and from my knowledge only the first draft was leaked out, none of the other rewrites of the script has made it online yet.

damn. alrighty, off to find it on greener (Pardon the pun) Pastures!

I must have my head in the sand- I still haven't got hold of the script. I'm sure there is no one public spirited enough to PM me a link, either.

*sigh*

Johns comments on the movie and the effect it'll have on GL's popularity.

PWCW: Are you hoping that the upcoming movie, while it won't include all the mythology you've set up with the multi-colored corps, will drive people into the comics and into this bigger world?

GJ: I think Green Lantern is poised to be one of the biggest characters in the world. No other superhero is like him. It's not even a superhero book; it's a sci fi book. It's Lord of the Rings in space. It's Star Wars and aliens and cop shows, but it's its own thing. For me, Green Lantern has always had the most potential to reach and touch a lot of people because it's such a wonderful mythology. It's grown in the comics to the point where there's interest in the movie, and now the movie is going to grow it to a place. With [Casino Royale director] Martin Campbell[signed to direct the Green Lantern movie], I really have a lot of high hopes that it's going to be great, and I think people will continue to become fans of Green Lantern.

some tidbits

Beyond that, Guggenheim remained tight-lipped. "You know I really can't [say anything]," he said. "I've sworn a blood oath of secrecy in relation to the project. But, you know, the thing I can tell you is that it is a very loving and respectful approach."

Guggenheim added: "The goal here is to do the best cinematic representation of the Green Lantern character. You know, there's no desire on anyone's part to completely change the character and just call this other character Green Lantern and try to ... draft off the name recognition. This is all about 'How do we bring the best version of this character to the silver screen?'"

As for casting of the iconic character, rumors have centered on such of-the-moment actors as The Hangover's Bradley Cooper and Star Trek's Chris Pine. None are true, Guggenheim said.

"They're all false," he said. "I mean, they're all false insofar as we haven't chosen anyone yet. They're still in the negotiations, you know? There's a lot of names being talked about, and there's a lot of people being met, and a lot of ... actors reading the script

I hope the fact that he says negoitiations means they have some of the main actors in place and are headed towards announcements soon.

Once they nab their Hal, everything else will fall into place.

yea hopefully they are pretty close to selecting their hal, and then who ever is selected for sinestro, carl, carol, etc.... to have good chemistry with the hal actor.

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Green Lantern’ Movie To Introduce One New Green Lantern, Says Screenwriter

Along with “Resurrection,” Guggenheim is co-writing the screenplay for the live-action “Green Lantern” movie based on the DC hero who uses a powerful ring to guard the Earth and surrounding areas of the universe against danger. He and fellow writers Michael Green and Greg Berlanti delivered yet another draft of the screenplay last week, and while he couldn’t share many details about the film’s plot, he did share some thoughts about the scripting process, the multitude of casting rumors and — possibly most intriguing — a new Green Lantern they created for the movie.

According to Guggenheim, the script has been in a constant state of revisions since “Casino Royale” director Martin Campbell was tagged to helm the project.

“It’s basically the exercise of changing the movie from being just a script that people are reading to being a script that people will actually shoot, perform and produce,” said the writer of the recent flurry of revisions.

As far as who will actually be performing that script, Guggenheim couldn’t share any details about what he did or didn’t know regarding casting — but he did warn fans not to dismiss the casting announcement when it does become official. Given the character’s iconic status among comic fans, he knows the initial word on who will play Hal Jordan is likely to generate a lot of debate, no matter who’s pegged to wear the ring.

Even so, Guggenheim said he’s as eager to find out who’ll play the Green Lantern of Sector 2814 (the section of the Green Lantern Corps universe that includes Earth) as anyone else.

“It’s always particularly funny when there’s a rumor that goes around and I’m like, ‘I know that can’t be true because that actor’s schedule doesn’t permit them to do the movie in our time frame,’ or any number of other things,” said the writer. “But I’m a very big believer that in acting, people can surprise you. People you didn’t necessarily think were the right choice on paper can be the absolute right choice.”

“When Heath Ledger was first announced as the Joker that wasn’t the obvious right choice, but now that everyone has seen ‘The Dark Knight,’ can any of us imagine someone else in that role?” he added.

Beyond the lead actor, however, a “Green Lantern” movie offers a unique chance at casting a wide range of roles — a massive, universe-spanning police force full of characters, in fact. While Guggenheim wouldn’t comment on whether we’ll see fan-favorite Green Lanterns like Kilowog or (my personal favorite) Ch’p, he did reveal that one new Green Lantern would be created specifically for the film.

“One of our rules has been: ‘Don’t create a new Lantern when a pre-existing one from the comic books would work just as well,’” he said. “There’s only one Lantern who we’ve decided to completely create from scratch, but there’s a very specific reason why we’ve made that decision
