i wonder if Channing can pull of the Creole accent though, maybe he would do a better job than many would give him credit for. See RDJ, Pratt and other comedians who have surprised audiences when they portrayed a super hero
Yeah well, RDJ is in a top class of his own ( I can't see anyone else as Tony) and Pratt was perfect for Starlord, too. Both of them have an actual range. Channing has always come off as flat and static too me. I haven't liked him in anything. :(

yeah he has a lot to prove and a tall hill to climb.

Jackman back as Wolverine, though they confirm "one more time," so who knows what this actually means continuity wise.

I suppose the dusted "gray" Deadpool costume could be seen as a confirmation that it's a continuation of the story left off from Deadpool 2 but what do I know. I'm just hoping they film it here again so I can work on it.

I hope Ryan Reynolds shows up in Avengers: Secret Wars as his swan Xong.

I don't want Deadpool 3, and I want them to recaXt Deadpool for Marvel Studios' Deadpool: Begins.

Keep Marsden, Janssen, Stewart

Especially keep Kelsey Grammer as Beast also keep the guy who played Colossus in DP 1 & 2

Re cast Storm- Halle Berry was not a good fit. Angela Bassett or an Angela Bassett type actress would have been much better
All those actors are too old to play those parts long term for the MCU for a decade(Stewart especially since he’s literally in his eighties) No…. I’m sorry but it’s very unlikely they’ll be kept for the MCU version even if those actors return in Secret Wars or something but all them will be recast with younger actors.

Reynolds and Jackman are old too.

Also, bringing Marsden, Berry and Jannsen is probably a one time thing.

Berry and Marsden are still headlining movies as well. Cgi and good make up make wonders as well... if you're so concerned about their appearance.

It's odd because I love Fox's X-Men with all the things they got wrong and those they got right. Anyone looking at my post history will see that I was there for every new movie, picking apart marketing materials and trailers.

However, I feel very conflicted about the fact that the MCU is just continously bringing back these actors in variant roles for nostalgia's sake. I'd rather they dedicate that time to their own version of the X-Men.

At least, I hope and suspect that Hugh in Deadpool will fare better than Quicksilver in Wandavision and Xavier in MoM. But that's four actors they've brought back now. Yet not a word on what the MCU X-Men team will be like.

It's been three years since Dark Phoenix. At this rate, they might as well just have continued the Fox X-Men movies.

Outside of potential contract issues or people just not wanting to come back, no one is off the table for Secret Wars.

After Secret Wars, though, the Fox variants will be gone almost certainly en masse and the MCU original team will make its big debut (maybe even in Secret Wars, though that might be too much for one movie).

The only one I could see sticking around in the future is Reynolds (possibly with a supporting character like Negasonic) - yes, he's 48 but he's only had two (real) appearances so far and people really like him a lot. He could easily do another two or three movies probably, and if he eventually bows out it's fine because the MCU doesn't really need Deadpool the character anyway.

I guess, but that's like 2026 though. That's eight years after Dark Phoenix was originally meant to be released. Who knows what state the MCU might be in at that point.

Garfield and Maguire worked, in my opinion, because the MCU Spider-Man was already established. They weren't just fan service. They were there supporting MCU Peter's story and arc, the "Peter that matters". That's why "Quicksilver" and Xavier didn't work. What purpose did they serve?

I don't see being that different with Jackman: MCU Logan doesn't exist. Jackman (hopefully) won't stick around. And Jackman's Logan doesn't have unfinished business, unlike Garfield's Peter for instance.

Like you, I liked FOX X-Men for what they were/meant. But I rather not see them anymore and leave that in the past.

I think having keke as rogue would really help with the chemistry. Like back in the day, the big three women of the x-men were Jean, Storm and rogue (obviously now Emma and Psylocke are there too). Like my point is seeing keke with Jean and Storm would be super cool as well as with the others
Could be a big injection of personality into X-Men that was missing before, and in a character that massively benefits from it.

I remember a while back some posters here insisting that we'd never see Jackman as Wolverine again.

"Hugh said he's done! Hugh said he's done!"

If this is indeed the last time we ever see him as Wolvie I'll eat my shoes...
I think Jackman likes playing him enough to keep going. It was the extreme workouts that were this issue last I read and I don't think he has to keep that up as long as he has a good costume.

I think his workout regimen was a studio mandate that was likely in his contract, and I doubt Disney gives a crap.

Chris Evans disagrees.

I wouldn’t work out if I got the gig. They would have to cgi my gut out like when Scarlett was pregnant during the avengers.

I’m not sure you read the whole post ….clearly I meant Marsden, Famke, and Stewart were too old to reprise the roles long term(especially in Stewart’s case who’s an octogenarian). The post already pointed out the possibility of them returning as a one-time thing in Secret Wars, but that isn’t the same as keeping them in the roles continuously for another decade for a new X-Men franchise in the MCU. Which I was actually arguing against in my quote reply to the poster.

I wouldn't mind cameos from the old Fox-Men actors in the MCU from time to time - particularly in something like Secret Wars - but I don't want any of them returning full time to a new X-Men franchise, and that includes Jackman. We need new blood for the MCU mutants...

I can see Marvel keeping Jackman around the MCU as a mentor or something like that. Maybe have him trapped in the 616 Universe after the events of Secret Wars. Have him mentor X-23. I can live with that.

But i don't want Hugh as the 'official' MCU Wolverine. Recast the role and let's get a new Logan for the new franchise.
