It's funny seeing all these casting predictions when the MCU's future X-men actors are probably still in elementary school right now.

It's kinda fitting in an almost bittersweet way. The future belongs to the next generation, and the X-Men are the future.

At the rate they're going, I'm willing to bet that by the time they finally get to the X-Men, Marvel isn't going to have the stranglehold on the box office that they currently do.

Either that ,or they're playing the kid brother or sister on a sitcom or in a film right now.

Secret Wars is likely to rip things up.

Oh right, interesting to know that (wouldn't have guessed). Maybe I'm getting slightly convinced...

And that's just the thing, there's so much you can do with that. X-Men needs to be about different identities intersecting, connecting, sometimes forcibly, through the conduit that is mutancy.

How do you get to the point where you'd have a poor Black kid like Scott Summers who grew up w/out a father, in & out of the system, to see himself as the same as a rich white (WASP) kid, like Warren Worthington III, who had everything Scott never did.

Being a mutant would force all of these different groups of people to see themselves as one. You know how the comics sort of pretend that mutancy erases one's blackness, or their gayness, or their class status (*cough Emma)? Well, we need to see HOW that happens. How do you get to the point where both of these men see themselves as the same people; the same tribe.

It will happen eventually, because mutants are greater than us, and can overcome those social constructed differences. But they are born from us, so there will be conflict as they transcend beyond.

The first movie really needs to be about the birth of solidarity between mutants, in the MCU

After watching Halloween Ends, I think it’d be fun to have Jamie Lee Curtis somewhere in the MCU as Destiny.

I still think she's definitely too old for X-23, but would like to see her in the MCU.

Yeah, we're like at least 5 years away from the first X-Men movie, and god knows when Laura will be introduced. =/

There will be other good roles for her for sure.

I have been marathon-ing the X-Men movies and have come around to the idea of retaining the cast. I think it would work well, and they can just use the multiverse/different timelines to explain any continuity discrepancies or costume changes. This cast is actually pretty good and I would be happy if this cast comes back.

Just give them new costumes and some different storylines/direction and I think it would feel very fresh!

I personally don't EVAR want to see Channing Tatum play Gambit. He was a perfect example of Fox just casting big stars rather than people who fit the roles. And Sophie Turner was a bland, uninspired choice for Jean Grey. I honestly think the MCU should go with as clean a slate as possible.

I can understand that! Tatum as Gambit still interests me for some reason, not exactly sure why.

I just like that he was the only celebrity to help elderly stan Lee off the stage at comic con that time when no one else would. That alone is enough for me to give him a go

I really hope half of Dark PhoeniX's X-Men cast isnt returning.

Like if we see the Professor, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Beast, Storm, Nightcrawler + Gambit and Colossus. Its not really that different from the previous fliX. The only one who haven't appeared in a very long time is Gambit.

Angel, Psylocke, Rogue, Iceman, Dazzler, Bishop, I would take any of those before Beast, Nightcrawler, Jean for the first film. And I don't think I want to see the Professor right away, like I'd like to see the Professor missing or inactive atleast for the first film to differentiate it more from the foX era. And don't get me started with the Wolverine.

Marvel Studios' X-Men hasn't even begun and we already got 2 of the most overused X-Men in Marvel Studios. I won't be surprised if Magneto completes the trifecta.

I don’t think there is an actor in Hollywood that can capture Gambit’s sex appeal, Tatum included. But I’ve been watching the remake/new show of Interview With The Vampire and this guy comes close:



Jacob Anderson is British but he nails that NOLA accent perfectly. I think he’d do Remy LeBeau justice.

I wonder...how would people react if the MCU ended up swapping Logan and Laura's roles? As in, if Laura was introduced as the original Wolverine and Logan shows up later as her young, gender-swapped clone.

I think introducing Laura first and Logan later could work. But "changing roles" like you said seems like changing much of their history, and therefore changing much of who they are.

Since we're years away, maybe Gambit will be played by an unknown actor.

Overall I've been enjoying a lot their casting choices for the MCU.
