X-Men The Official MCU X-Men News and Discussion Thread

If we get the X-Men movie right after Secret Wars, I think that is because Marvel wants to come out of the multiverse saga swinging, with the big guns, and avoid what happened with the Infinity Saga where they went out on a high and then floundered afterwards. Keep in mind that the next phase will be the Mutant Saga, so the X-Men are going to be very important to the MCU going forward.

Thats easier said and done. Marvel Studios always want to come out swinging to the point, the general public can longer catch up to every project simply because they've oversaturated their brand.

Secret Wars is a big movie and I don't want them to splitting their time, between an Avengers movie/X-Men reboot. Remember the X-Men is the last big ip that Marvel Studios haven't made a movie yet and its a reboot. So there is simply no need to rush it and release it just months after Secret Wars. There should be a breather, post-Secret Wars, especially the dozens of characters that we would see there, if not a hundred characters.

They’re totally going to get Noah Schnapp for a role if they’re looking at a cast that young. Marvel love their game of thrones and stranger things actors

I think Marvel expects Secret Wars to give them momentum moving forward into the next era, so taking a break is not likely. They will want X-Men to be the first big thing out of the gate.

I can see him being Iceman or Angel.

there is a Marvel date confirmed for late 2027. and a few weeks ago one scooper said its going to be X-Men.
feel (a bit) rushed to me, but..... time will tell.
They have a writer since last year, so its technically possible if they are pleased with the first drafts this year. If we get a director announcement in 2025, the movie may be much closer than we think.
Geez. I hope I live that long. :(

It still doesn't make sense to me releasing it after six months. And they aren't gonna lose momentum by saving it to May 2028. See Iron Man 3 coming out 1 year after Avengers 2012. The public could use some time off between Marvel movies, especially after Marvel Studios oversaturated their annual content from 2021 to 2023. And who knows if the audience still feel that way when there's 3 Marvel movies coming out this year, in a span of 6 months...

Avengers Secret Wars can be their sole big movie in 2027, then X-Men in 2028. What's the problem with that? A smaller movie could be released in Q4 of 2027.

The fact that Marvel is now rushing to the end of the Multiverse says otherwise. They want to end this chapter of the MCU so they can move on to other things like the X-Men.

I don't watch Stranger Things so I'm indifferent everytime they get suggested.

Spider-Man: Far From Home came three months after Avengers Endgame and became the first Spider-Man movie to gross a billion. That is even less time between films.

Far from Home isn't a reboot. I don't know why you're comparing a Spider-Man sequel to a X-Men reboot, that would introduce a brand new cast. Spider-Man isn't a team as well.

You're getting lost in the weeds. They're comparable because like Spider-Man, they are one of Marvel's top properties and have been in demand to join the MCU for awhile.

X-Men is a huge priority for Marvel Studios after the two Avengers events, there is no doubt about that, so it wouldnt be surprising that Feige gives it an earlier release date than lesser projects like Blade and the like.

2027 may seem a bit too soon, but if not, a 2028 release is 100% guaranteed.

There are rumours of Multiverse Saga being extended to 2028, with an Avengers 7. I think if a MCU film flops next year, this would lead to another change in plans.

Anyway, the road map for PhasiX is not clear yet, so its hard to be sure about a 2028 date for Marvel Studios' X-Men. For all we know, the X-Men reboot could enter development hell like Blade, as the future is never truly set. They need to find a director first, if they really want to be filming something next year.

Captain America will flop. Probably thunderbolts too.

Not sure what that means for x-men but you never know, it might be a blessing if it can be delayed to a more progressive time. Or maybe it’s a movie franchise that could move us to a more progressive time. Here’s hoping

I wouldn't say they would flop. But its not gonna surprise me, if all 3 MCU 2025 movies underperform this year. And I expect more changes from Disney when those happen.

In his latest livestream, Jeff Sneider mentioned he's heard of another X-Men casting and will discuss it on next week's show.

That guy just says anything. We need to stop mentioning him here, he’s just one of those guys online who says things to be the main character for the day

Sneider is actually one of the few serious scoopers these days, isnt it?
anyway, whats wrong with the weird board design on main page and subforums? all topics look so big and visually uncomfortable :dizzy:

Go to preferences and select xenforno as your design style until they fix it. There was an update and it ****ed everything up.

So help me god if the new Russos rumor is true....

Came here to cry about this.

And similar to RDJ as Doom or Jackman sticking around as Logan, this is going to have a lot for excitement from the audience.

Only 12 of us will be crying about it.
