I guess confusion was the wrong word
I don't think people will be confused per se, just exhausted, and say "I'm not paying ridiculous movie ticket prices to see two different Batman movies" so they'll pick the one they think matters

And Spider-man is different when it's a live action movie with Peter versus an animated movie starring Miles. If they made Spider-man 4 with Tobey, Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Garfield, and Brand New day starring Holland all at the same time, they would probably cannibalize each other too.

Animated or not, people are still paying ridiculous ticket prices to see two Spider-Man films that feature two different Peter Parkers. Hell, Peter was the co-lead in the first movie.

I don’t see why that makes a difference when it comes to money.

Sony isn't releasing Spider-Man Brand New Day in 2026, and then Spider-Man 4 in 2027.

Its also quite clear, Brand New Day is live action and Spider-Verse is animated. So there's clearly a distinction between two franchises. Unlike The Batman Part II and whatever live action Batman movie is coming from Dcu. Like I said, good luck with that.

There's really no point comparing a franchise with 30+ films, over DCU which only has 1 released film, and that Batman Reeves series that is taking forever to get a sequel out and say Mcu needs to take a page from Dc's book.... there's just no comparison at the moment.

I wish they'd release some casting news. RDJ was announced as Doom 2 years before Doomsday so maybe next year's comic con or D23 will have them reveal who is playing which X-Men.

They haven't even announced any other films for 2027 aside from Secret Wars, and we are only getting 2 MCU films next year (1 is co-produced by Sony).

If Sadie Sink really is playing Mayday or Annie Parker then Sony might be planting the seeds for that. That movie would make a billion dollars easy, let’s be real.

I think audiences would be smart enough to make the distinction between the Batmen. Especially if they are stylishly and thematically different.

Thats not a good reason why FoX-Men should stay. There were also several times that it looked they were retired with their X-Men roles:
-Key X-Men characters were killed off/depowered in X3
-Hugh declaring Logan the movie as his final Wolverine role
-The Ot cast minus Hugh/Patrick being out of picture post DOFP until the end of Fox-Men in 2019.
-Disney getting the rights

FoX-Men didn't headline their last X-Men movie just 3 years ago, unlike The Batman. So you wanting them to stay around and co-exist with the rebooted X-Men cast and using The Batman/DCU as an example is not a good excuse. The Mcu is already jam-packed. There's really no need for the long awaited X-Men movie reboot, to be still dealing with FoX-Men, who are already around for more than 2 decades.

Hence why a clean slate is important. We got that with Spider-Man in 2017, then Fantastic 4 this year. So should the X-Men in their next movie.
