The movie comes out in a week in the US. Now let's talk about what we can expect from the new trailer. Hopefully descriptions will come soon.

hopefully we even get a trailer

Fingers crossed for dialogue. America knows about Watchmen now, and they know that it's going to kick visual ass, but they don't know about the weight of the story.
I'd love for "Stop listen what's that sound" by Buffalo Springfield to play a few seconds into the trailer to emphasize the 80s and Rorschach talking to Dan.
But I guess that's why I don't make these decisions.

there better be dialogue! i swear to god if i hear the end is the beginning of the end again im gonna be pissed

dialog, dialog, dialog, dialog, dialog

Dialog

all I want.... and maybe some silk spectre I

hehe, yeah, I want that

Yeah, plllleeassseeee SOME dialog. Perhaps shots that aren't just brief bits of slow mo action as well, so we can get a better feel for the characters. Rorschach and Dan talking might send me into convulsions of awesome.

I really want to hear quite a bit of dialogue in the new trailer.

One more reason to go see Quantum.

I suppose saying dialogue would be redundant at this point. Instead, I'll add that I'd like a few shots of the vintage minutemen.

I realize by putting all the action slo mo stuff in there is to attract the GA, but we need some dialogue! Rorscach dialogue to be exact. And Some Doc Manhatten, I'm dying to know what he sounds like.

I dont know why people are freaking out and acting like there wont be dialogue. All we've had so far was a teaser and that Scream footage. There's a difference between something like that not having dialogue, and a full theatrical trailer.

Teasers are designed to, wait for it... omg... tease! A full theatrical trailer will set up the movie, explain the plot, and so forth. It WILL have dialogue.

It's like seeing that teaser for The Dark Knight and worrying that the full theatrical trailer might not have any footage. Come on!

I'm pretty sure the dialogue will be

"America...Would you like to play a game?"

Spoken by Osawmandias.

Everyone wants dialog, apparently.

So everyone, let's throw out some ideas for which lines/scenes you think would be best for the trailer.

I'm kinda feeling the exchange between Rorschach and Dan: "Good times. Whatever happened to them?" "You quit." just because it's pretty relevant to the basic premise of the movie. I would also include a whole bunch of Rorschach's crazier ramblings, thrown in for good measure.

New, well, NEWS!

While there's been glimpses of footage in San Diego, at these presentations, and during the Scream Awards earlier this month - there's only been one official trailer so far. The second however is on its way, attached to "Quantum of Solace" in theaters next Friday. Snyder says "I just saw the final version of it this morning... it's a little bit more story, a teeny bit more like a full trailer. This is much more like 'someone's picking off costume heroes'. You'll get a sense of the characters plight you know, 'we were supposed to make the world a better place... what happened to the American Dream'." Some elements have had to be changed for the trailer, most notably Dr. Manhattan's exposed genitals have had to be 'defocused' to be granted approval by the MPAA. He also confirms a third trailer will hit early in the new year.

Yeah, I realise that about teasers. I actually prefer them myself. More mysterious and more effective. But all I asked for was some Rorscach diologue in the new trailer.

dude! eff yea! three and a half hour version!!!

Yeah, I'm so happy for the three and a half hour edition! I can't wait for the DVD! It's like seeing a whole nother film in a way.

blu ray extended edition?

that'd rule

What's the final runtime? "I'm hoping 2 hours 42 minutes, with credits." That theatrical version however is just one of three versions of the film planned for the eventual DVD & Blu-ray release. There's also a three hour director's cut of the film with "the scenes all fleshed out", and the 'Black Freighter' version which will combine that Director's Cut with the 'Black Freighter' short film that will clock in at three-and-a-half hours. How the Black Freighter version will be incorporated and packaged is still undecided - "For me 'Black Freighter' needs its own box, it's packaged with like cool props from the movie and supplemental material. It's like this big thing you put on your shelf and go 'that's f**king Black Freighter' you know."
