The Official Paul Thread (Simon Pegg and Nick Frost)

just an update, David Koechner is hilarious, Kristin Wiig is really friendly and I get to smash a chair over a dude's back today! woot woot!

ok, so the dude I smashed a chair over turned out to be John Lynch, who plays Kristin Wiig's dad in the movie. crazy.

That's so cool. It must be fun to be an extra.

You lucky mofo! I seriously gotta get the **** outta KY

So, we will be seeing you in the movie? (either that, or you were very angry at John Lynch)

Congrats, man!

yeah, I'm not sure if you can see my face or not though. and I'll also be on Simon Pegg's video blog for like a second a couple times too.

but yeah, thanks man, I got so effin lucky. My casting director friend got me on as an extra and the stunt coordinator has been coming to my gym (thanks to said casting director friend recommending he come) and doing jiu jitsu with us for awhile and I guess one of hist stunt guys couldn't make it the second day of shooting this scene so he came and found me and asked if I wanted to fill in for him, to which I promptly replied "**** yes!" and now I'm eligible to join SAG and start a career as a stuntman. ****ing insane.

Lincoln, born and raised. :o

did you move out to LA?

nope, Santa Fe, NM. Movie business is blowing up down here cuz the state is giving all sorts of tax incentives and stuff.

And Lincoln was actually where I was planning on moving back to. That place is a million times better than anywhere else in the state. Trust me, I lived in quite a few different places there. Was in Lincoln for a year during high school. Pius X. the school sucked but the town was awesome.

Jane Lynch:
“I have a small part in PAUL with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and they’re sci-fi geeks who go on a kind of alien-trail and I play the owner of a restaurant called “The Alie-Inn”. It’s full of paraphernalia and everything and they stop at this place and they almost get beat up by these rednecks and I come to their aid.”
She is not Tara, so I guess Sigourney Weaver is Paul's old friend

hahaha the "alie-inn".

I like word play :)

A First Glowing Peak at Paul

The above is not much, but it’s enough to start the impatient and eager anticipation for Paul. You know, the alien comedy that’s reuniting Simon Pegg and Nick Frost; the one that will hopefully be a cross between the brilliance of Spaced and the comedic awesomeness of Hot Fuzz. The image, which you can see in all shapes and sizes over at Collider, is a photo of a poster hanging up on Stage 41 at Hollywood’s Universal Studios.

From left to right, we’ve got Blythe Danner screaming in a granny dress, Pegg rockin’ an Empire Strikes Back t-shirt, Frost with the boom stick, and Kristen Wiig running to catch up. One can only guess that they’re facing an alien or government invasion. As we already know, the comedy centers on Pegg and Frost’s science fiction geeks who, after going to a comic-con, decide to make a pilgrimage to Area 51 — the notorious alien hotspot in Nevada. On their journey, the end up running into a real alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen).

Does the image whet your scifi comedy tastebuds, and make you want to go back and rewatch all of Spaced until the movie hits in 2010? (If, of course, you’re not already doing just that in honor of the show’s tenth anniversary.)

lol Simon Pegg is really going for the Obi-Wan Kenobi look isnt he.

This movie is gonna be awesome.

I've been reading the screenplay in PDF format and it's funny as hell! I think you guys are going to really enjoy this movie! Reading Paul's lines, it shows that Pegg and Frost clearly had Seth Rogen in mind when writing the film and I agree that he's PERFECT for the role. If anyone wants the script, send me a PM and I'll be more than happy to give it to you.

Simon Pegg + Nick Frost = two of my favorite movies of all time. Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead! I can't wait for this! I had no idea about this previously....
