Sony ecosystem (2023): 123 million monthly

Microsoft ecosystem (includes consoles, Windows, and mobile apps) (2022): 120 million monthly users

Valve ecosystem (includes Windows/Linux) (2021): 132 million monthly users

Sony (PlayStation) and Valve (Steam) are my preferred platforms, though occasionally I'll buy/download something on Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) to play. I have an Xbox account on PC but don't really do anything with it. As for Nintendo/Switch, I play with friends and family that have that but personally I don't.
wow, Microsoft and Sony both have a very close amount of MAUs!

2.38 million games consoles were sold during the year in the UK, according to GfK panel data. That's a rise of 9.4% over the year before.

PS5 was the driver behind this. Sony's console saw sales rise 55.2% over 2022, making it the biggest year yet for new PlayStation. It's actually the best year for a PlayStation machine since 2014.

The other console to post year-on-year growth was, interestingly, PS4. Sales of PS4 were up 633% year-on-year. Like with PS5, this is due to severe console shortages that plagued PlayStation consoles throughout the year prior.

Elsewhere, Nintendo Switch ended the year as the No.2 console, but sales are down 16.7% over the year before. This is the Switch's seventh year on the market and a decline was expected.

Narrowly behind Switch is the Xbox Series S and X, which saw sales drop 14.2% over the year before.

Over in accessories, nine million products were sold at UK retail in 2023, a drop of 4.5% over the year before, despite improved console sales.

Red looks seXy, but I wouldn't buy it. I prefer my gadgets black or silver.

Any chance Killzone, Resistance or Infamous ever come back?

I think those are done.
A shame, maybe if the devs for each scaled up enough they could do these as well as their current main franchises (if they wanted to that is).

My opinion about AI is use it as a tool to enhance things. But in terms of creating "artworks", they shouldn't be 100% reliant on it. There's just something weird/ugly about AI arts, like its like an art made by a robot.

Man If Sony can bring back these franchises that would be amazing!! Add in SOCOM Also one of my favorite military games back when I was growing up.
Oh SOCOM, yes! I guess in most of these cases the studios are committed to big franchises like Spider-Man/Marvel/Horizon/Ghost but it would be nice to get 1 or 2 of these back one day. I'm hoping that if the studios expand they can have multiple teams to be able to handle their main franchises as well as projects like these at the same time.

I had no idea that you could download this from the PS store as of last week.

It's very very far from the best Star Wars game but I might have to get it just for nostalgia's sake.

I hope Ghost 2 gets confirmed this summer.

Tech question that I can't really seem to find a straight answer to online:

I have two 2TB external hard drives that I use with my PS5 that have game data on them. I recently got a 5TB external hard drive that I would like to transfer all data that's currently on the two 2TB drives to consolidate. In the interest of saving time, would I be able to copy the data on the drives using a Mac or PC instead of only using my PS5? I know that you can't open up game files on a computer but I figure if you're only transferring the data and not actually opening the files it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks in advance!

I don't own a PS5 so I may be talking out of my ass but the technical guy in me would think that since you've already used the two 2TB external HDs with your PS5, I'm assuming they are encrypted (Sony possibly uses a proprietary file system as well). Thus a Windows/Mac/Linux computer won't be able to recognize those drives, since they aren't using FAT32/exFAT/NTFS file system, or they will be seen as empty because of the encryption.
