The Official Pull List Discussion thread

I know it's expensive but, there are still people who are willing to buy it, like me. I'm not saying to only come out with 50 issue hardcovers but6 something like this:

TPB = 6 issues or 1 story arc
SmHC = 12 issues or 2 story arcs
LrgHC = 30 issues 0r 5 story arcs

My hardcover actually only covers about 40 issues, 50 is a little much. I like hardcovers if i had the money i'd try and collect as many hardcovers as possible. Have you seen what they are doing with Invincible, its not a hardcover but it covers about 50 issues, I think its a great idea, hardcovers of that size would be a great X-Mas or B-Day gift.

One hardcover could do it, counting Giant Size Hulk its only 17 issues, so a hardcover will probably happen, but probably after 2 smaller hardcovers and TPB.

I filtered out a crapload of books out of my collection which are all on their way to eBay.I'm glad I stopped buying alot of crap when I did, thank god for this thread! (just kidding)

Anyways:

DC:
Green Lantern
Batman Detective Comics
Brave and the Bold
Justice League of America
Justice Society of America
Teen Titans

Justice
All Star Superman
Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters

Marvel:
Captain America
Daredevil
Incredible Hulk
Immortal Iron Fist
Punisher War Journal
Moon Knight (?)

Civil War

Curious about the following titles:

Birds of Prey
The Spirit

If anyone could enlighten me,that would be great.

The Spirit is a must. Dont think, Just buy. Trust me. Birds of Prey I dropped at #99, though I hear its better, I frankly could care less about it at this point.

In other enws, I dropped The Flash, even if Guggenheim's run is god's gift to comics, trade.

Do you know if there are any parts of Planet Hulk in trade yet, or are they waiting to release it in one big book?

The prologue has been released in TPB but the main body (when he reaches the planet) hasn't

Ahh,Gugg's Flash run coming up was something I was also thinking about checking out.

I wanted to check out Johns' run,but didn't know where to start.I don't plan on buying all 7 or 8 trades either.

If you get any, you must, must IMO get: Crossfire, Blitz, Ignition and Rogue War.

I'm taking your word for it and getting those.

How was JSA Fair Play?I'm only getting it because Hawkman kicks ass in it,or so I hear.

Dropped Squadron Supreme.

Adding Brave and the Bold.

What are you gonna buy in place of the inferior and justly cancelled nextwave? :oldrazz:

I think you oughta start reading Green Lantern,Ranger.

If you pick up Rebirth and the latest HC Revenge of the Green Lanterns, you'll be up to date.

I was at B & N today and was this close to buying that.

Well, I'm adding Batman back to my list with Morrison's return, and I'm thinking of changing from floppies to trades for Astonishing X-Men and Daredevil, to save some cash. Specifically those two, because I have the first Brubaker arc in trade, and am thinking it might look better if the rest were with it in trade, and I'm only collecting Astonishing until Joss & Cassady are off the book (Only 4 trades).

Get Rebirth first and then that one.Trust me,I knew crap all about Green Lantern history, but Rebirth schools you on all that.

Don't worry about the No Fear HC.It collects the first 6 issues which were very mediocre and messy.

"Revenge Of" starts off at #7,when things got better, all the way up to #13.You'll only be behind 3 issues, since #16 comes out this week.

TO be honest,Morrison's Batman has been the most overrated hoopla on the stands, well next to Wolverine Origins.

I say you pick up Detective Comics or Confidential instead.

I've still been picking up Detective, I plan to be sticking with that book for a while. Although, I'll probably skip the ones that Dini doesn't write. I'm not too sure about Confidential, but maybe I'll still pick up the first issue, see how I like it.

Detective has been a really awesome title. I'd check out the couple issues or so in that run that Dini didn't write because they still aren't half bad stories and, in certain areas, still tie in with Dini's overall story.
