The Official Pull List Discussion thread

Darth, you get Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man but not Sensational Spider-Man? Sensational is the far superior title of the Spidey titles.

I don't like Spider-Man that much, I buy it because PAD writes it.

Friendly Neighboorhood is every bit as good as SSM, IMO.

All Star Batman & Robin
All Star Superman
Astonishing X-Men
Batman
Batman Strikes!
Brave and the Bold
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Countdown
Daredevil
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (dropping when PAD leaves)
Gargoles
Green Arrow (ending)
Jonah Hex
Justice (ending)
Runaways
The Spirit
Tales of the TMNT

Pick ups:
Astounding Wolf-Man
Booster Gold

I don't know how I feel about you buying Street Fighter comics.

I buy them for my Brother. It's the only comic I can get him to read. The man has no taste, so I indulge him in hopes that I can change that.

My current list is:
Astonishing X-Men
Batman
Cable & Deadpool
Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness
Ultimate X-Men

My list change will be complete in July:
Astonishing X-Men
Batman
Daredevil
Uncanny X-Men
X-Men

I changed my mind. I'm not getting Ultimate X-Men or Ultimate Spider-Man because my public library buys the trades whenever a new one comes out. I'm going to keep Uncanny X-Men and also get Daredevil.

The titles i'm currently following?
Uncanny X-men,
X-men,
Astonishing X-men,
Incredible Hulk,
Captain America,
Ms Marvel,
Iron Fist,
Daredevil,
New Excalibur,
Exhiles,
New Avengers,
Mighty Avengers,
Marvel Zombies/Army of Darkness,
Fantastic Four,
Black Panther,
Punisher: War Journal
Amazing Spiderman,
Sensational Spiderman,
Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman,
Avengers: The Initiative,
New X-men,
Cable/Deadpool,
Heroes For Hire,
Omega Flight,
Nova,
Annihilation Conquest,
Silver Surfer: Requiem,
X-Factor,
Ultimate Spiderman (though i'm dropping it after this arc)

and as of last week:
She-Hulk

Marvel:
Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness
Moon Knight

Other/indies:
Raise The Dead
Xombie: Reanimated
Army of Darkness
Tales of the TMNT
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vol. 4
Buckaroo Banzi

I know it isn't a lot, but whatever. I'm thinking about adding The Astounding Wolfman and Bizarre New World.

I'm bored...

DC

Green Lantern
Justice
Justice Society of America
Justice League of America
The Spirit

Marvel

Captain America
Daredevil
Incredible Hulk
Immortal Iron Fist
Punisher War Journal

Slott's first issue of Avengers was okay, but the Hank Pym story in issue 2 was solid.I hope Slott can keep up that kind of storytelling and shy away from the military/hardass stereotypes he's using with Gauntlet.

Cooke's Spirit hit me the wrong way with #5.Haven't gotten around to picking up #6 yet.Someone please tell me it doesn't involve an animal directing characters around and saving the day:csad:.

It involves a punk band who gets themselves addicted to some meteorite that turns them blue. Tragic and sad story.

Okay that sounds good.I like the book but #5 was pretty much my limit in terms of sillyness.

I don't know what the hell is lurking on my pull box,I haven't picked up anything for a month. It's either going to be a treat to see what I missed or it's going to hurt my wallet.Or both.

For this month (and of course subject to change per whatever catches my fancy) ;) :

Marvel

Astonishing X-Men
Mighty Avengers
Avengers: The Initiative

I see. Well, if you read Sensational Spider-Man it might make you like Spider-Man more.

Yeah, it is now. FNSM was a little shaky there but David really found a rhythm in there. I really dug the Spider-Man 2211 storyline and all his storylines are wrapping into one now. Plus David has basically reintroduced Pete's old school supporting cast back into the comics. Hopefully they don't leave when he does.

Exactly. It's like PAD's shaped an...epic story using very classic and fun elements and characters from Spider-Man's history.

It just has a great tone and style to it that SSM - while quite good as well - doesn't have. SSM, IMO, is much more dark 80s Spider-Man, whereas FNSM is closer to the '60s and '70s stuff.

I just began picking up ASM again but from what I here about FNSM maybe I should buy that as well. I love the early Spidey!!! I might not have the money for it though :csad:

I perfur ASM
I must say, while I've never been a fan of JMS' Spidey run (even when it was considered "great", I never really dug it much), I really do like the current arc in an effed up sort of way. It's like Spider-Man decided to become Batman for 6 issues.

LMAO so true!!! I really didn't get the whole back in black deal with Spidey, he just decides to wear black just to send a message to whoever shot Aunt May. It's some lame attempt to link the comic with the movie costume wise. Spidey got way too dark.

I'm just glad they used the established black costume rather than the movie's black costume for the shameless tie-in. The movie's black costume was boring.

Whatever. Just hang a lantern on it. Have Peter look in the mirror, shrug, and assume whatever made his costume black in the first place had a knack for design. It certainly wouldn't have been anymore ridiculous than about 20% of the stuff that actually made it into the movie.

Eh...It just didn't bother me. I thought the movie was more...comic book-y than the first two, and I kind of enjoyed it a little more because of that.

It was boring but it made more sense for the movie.

It made sense because they made absolutely no effort explaining it. The one scene where they actually give us some information about it we're subjected to Peter Parker Cookie *****ebag.

I loved that scene.
