The Official Pull List Discussion thread

I pick up anywhere from 6 to 15 titles a week depending on what's shipping that week. All of them Marvel and I've been collecting like that for about 6 years now. Before that I got all my comics from my Dad.

I used to be like that. Then I got married and the stack shortened. Then I had kids and the stack shortened even more. Now I can get maybe 4 or 5 comics a week on a good week. Most times I end up getting about 6 comics every 2 weeks or so. It's getting very annoying. I hate being poor
It does sometimes feel like I go to work now solely to fund my comic-buying. It makes me feel like a junkie. :(

If you really wanted your comics, you'd just eat the kids. Suggest it to your wife, jokingly at first just to gauge her reaction, and if she seems cool with it, then get your flay knife ready for some true baby back ribs.

Depends on how old they are, though. If they're not at least on the cusp of adolescence, it wouldn't really be worth it. They'd only last a few days--maybe a week if JH and the missus eat lightly.

Eating the meat by itself isn't the way to go. I'd make it into a stew or a pot pie. That'll help spread it out longer.

I'm averaging about $100 a week on comics, mostly on TPBs. Sometimes I feel like that it's way to much. Then Wednesday rolls around again and it feels totally worth it.

I dropped 67 bucks this week on comics. I really needed to buy a pair of pants. Maybe get a hair cut, but now it will have to wait until next week. And God Willing next week will be a light one.

I spent $69 and change this week. I also need a haircut, but I haven't gotten one because I'm lazy and I never feel like going to the hair cuttery and bull****ting through some boring small-talk conversation with the person cutting my hair and all that junk. I have the money for it.

I'm about to throw close to a hundred down on my fanboy crack this week.

We joke, but we really are like junkies. I know my whole week would be ruined if I couldn't get comics on Wednesday. It just wouldn't feel right.

Comicaholics Anonymous kicked me out last meeting after I was caught reading Batman #670 in the bathroom.

We're totally junkies. When I travel for work, I often base my hotel choice not on what's closest to the office, but rather which hotel is close to a comic shop.

Hi, my name's DBM, and I'm addicted to comics. :csad:

Well, that's what you get for reading Morrison's crappy run. :oldrazz:

I know. I know. I just can't turn my back on Batsy knowing he'd never turn his on me. One day it will get really really good again. At least if I keep saying that I can almost convince myself it will be true.

I don't worry about location. I've waited an hour in rush-hour traffic to get to my comic shop before. How did I do it? Simple: I brought along a bag of last week's comics that I hadn't gotten to yet.

Hello, my name is TheCorpulent1, and I'm addicted to comics, too. :(

I've based contract acception on if they have a comic store in town or not.

EDIT: Still suffering from jet lag. x.x

How many titles do you guys have on your list?

I'm at 13 to 15 right now and I'm only dropping 15 to 20(max) a week on new books.

The numbers you guys are giving for weekly amounts spent is blowing my mind.

I used to say the same thing, until I started spending that much. x.x

My big thing is I could buy a good portion of drugs to get me through the week, or a stack of comics that will be done with come wednesday night.

I mean, money isn't that big of a thing for me, I make a killing as a performer (~700+ a night twice a week) and have bearly any bills (My total living expensies with food and around 300 a month for "other" is only 2100), so I pocket a good amount of money that goes to pretty much comics, booze, and drugs.

Now, when I was working elsewhere making like 735 an hour and only getting 400$ pay checks once every two weeks, I only could afford a few books a week.

It just all depends on how muhc money you got comming in I guess. I mean, I could EASILY drop half the books on my list and not give it a second thought, but since I got the money, I figure why not.

I have more than that on my list. I could try to put together a list of all the comics I buy, but it usually takes me a long time and I'm not really in the mood right now.

Same here, i'm subscribed to about 45 or so books, but then you have to factor in stuff I just grab from week to week and it probably comes out to about 70 or so. :( And the worst part is, that's actually me having cut back.

Yowza.

I just try to make sure I'm excited about all the books I read.I'll check my list every 2 months to see if there's anything that's been wavering lately or whether I'm not as happy with the book as I was before when deciding on dropping something.

Comics are expensive and I just try to budget at a certain amount. My rule is no spending more than 20 bucks a week on comics unless I'm buying one single trade.

Everytime I've dropped a book; Marvel pretty much made the decision for me. Squadron Supreme, Exiles, etc.

Every time I drop a book, two more take it's place. My Pull List is secretly the leader of Hydra.
