Suburban Glamour

TBPS - The Walking Dead, and HC's of Invincible

I'm leaning towards more TPB's nowadays, as I'd prefer to have the comics collected in a TPB on a shelf, rather than being stuffed in long boxes.

Lobster Johnson is done boy! It's been quite a good read so far, haven't finished it yet.

Oh, I haven't read the issue that just came out. Didn't realize it was the last. :o

I've been enjoying it a lot. It reads a lot like a Hellboy story, just with the Lobster in the protagonist's role. His bunch of associates is pretty cool, and I really like the dude in the super-powered suit (can't remember his name at the moment).

Yea it really surprised me.I've never had any interest in Hellboy or his universe,I just wanted to read a nice pulp comic set in the 30s.

Love the art too.

Well, I'm a huge Hellboy fan, so I guess Lobster Johnson appeals to the whole spectrum of comic readership. :)

I forgot I was supposed to try Atomic Robo out, too.

Give me your top 5 from that list.

I can't. This is as far as I can narrow:

Atomic Robo
DMZ
Fear Agent
Hawaiian Dick
Hellboy/BPRD ;)
The Killer
Local
Scalped
Scott Pilgrim
The Secret History
The Sword
Umbrella Academy

None of the Secret History issues have sold out, so your shop should be able to order them from Diamond. That book is the bee's knees, by the way.

I already buy the two bolded ones in trade, and I'm sorry, Umbrella Academy sounds great, but I can't buy that on principle now after what I heard in a Hot Topic store. What I was doing there in the first place, is irrelevant.

Yeah, The Umbrella Academy is very, very suprisingly the best new book of 2007. That's not hype, either. Pass on it for whatever you reason you want, but it's damn good.

I'll pull a Dread and cave in some day.

Maybe there'll be a sweet hardcover. Does DHC do those?

They've been known to do so from time to time, look at The Escapists. Either way it's a sure bet they want to litter a wall at Hot Topic with hardcovers so yeah, it will happen.

I don't care who's buying it, so long as people are.

I care about everything. I don't need to know I'm reading the same comic an emo kid reads and enjoys while bashing the Immortal Iron Fist. :cmad:

Like I said, I don't care who's reading it. I just want to sell like hotcakes so I can continue reading it.

What's so great about it? The FCBD issue didn't really grab me beyond that delectable James Jean cover.

It's hilarious, for one. The pacing is great, the characters are engaging, the art is amazing, yadda yadda yadda. It's just a really solid superhero-y fun book.

It's just alot of crazy, good crazy.

Ba's art mixed with Stewart's colors are a great combo.
