I wonder IF Marc Webb or the costume designers saw this issue and decided to use this suit and film this scene(perhaps it's what this pics are from, like before or after the wrestling stuff!?)

I came out of Spider-Man 3 smiling in the theaters. Realize it flaws now that I'm older but I still love it.

Spider-Man: With Great Responsibility #2. Peter wore that outfit during his days on TV & wrestling.

Re: expectations.

I don't know. I guess I just don't understand the concept of being overtly negative in the months/years (in some cases) leading up to a film, just for the sake of saving yourself a little disappointment. I hate being disappointed as much as anyone, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't try to be upbeat in the meantime. I guess in my mind, basically:

Months of negativity > 2 hours of disappointment.

Spider-Man 3 was a disappointment, but that will never take away the excitement I had watching that first teaser trailer.

We haven't had much news though. Amazing things could be coming, we will see. I am sorta glad that First Class has been pretty tight lipped about news and pics.

I don't know. I don't particularly hate the costume, so that was kinda news for me. I'm not going to pretend I love the whole thing. I was definitely more enamored with the official shot. I could live without the red leg stripes or the silver shoes (which aren't really bad, they just don't match with anything else on the costume), but I'm not going to let it bother me. I'd still give the costume a solid 7.5 out of 10, which with a good story is good enough for me.

Plus, I'll be getting my Captain America trailer soon, so that'll take my attention off Spidey for a little while.

I've heard he has a string of fights that will be filmed or have already been filmed, it may be that the costume will change the course of the film

I wish you all could go back and see me during X3 production. Oh how optimistic and scenario driven was I. Rothman raped my childhood.

Are you working for Sony or something?) Cool info!

That Magneto shot at the end with the chess pieces lmfao. It really rarely moved! hahahaha

We will see. If a classic costume awaits, I will gladly take "the I told you so" and eat them with humble pie. But, whatever this suit is, it smells.

Well, I guess this is the perfect time to say this:
"With lame spycam pics comes lame fan replys"

Spider-Man has worn tons of different suits over the years...that doesn't mean I want to see them.

I understand that!,But my point is that there has been many bashing&riping this new suit to pieces simply cause it's not like the comics.....Which now there is proof that it is indeed pretty much like part of the comcis!

I've just learned to roll with the punches. With every disappointment (Spider-Man 3), there's something which lives up to my hopes and dreams (The Dark Knight). And then, there's the pleasant surprises (Batman Begins, Iron Man, etc.).

I remember how excited I was during SM3 production. Every little scene/trailer and I was believing that SM3 was going to be the greatest superhero movie ever. Then we get jazz dance and Venom, a character that I love because I grew up at the same time he was popular, got killed with ONE DAMN BOMB. That scarred me. I can't see that movie to this very day. :csad:

From the stuff bjt has been telling us (if its true) then Sony threw us one hell of a curve ball. They advertised the wrestling cotume so that we follow the wrong route giving them the ability to film in costume without worry of spy photos because its not the final suit. That would be smart.

As for it being an origin story; I actually sorta like that, especially if they go with the Ultimate origin. That was a vastly different origin from what was seen in the Raimi series.

But, bjt, how do you "know" this stuff. You have actually had some legit info so I'm not doubting you yet, im just curious.

It would be one AMAZING surprise if they keep the possible legit costume a secret until release next year.

I will probably cream my pants.

If it is true, then why is Peter wearing the wrestling costume durng the Lizard battle? and what would be his purpose in changing the design so much? Batman and Iron Man have a purpose for doing it since they constantly update their armor, but Spider-Man?

You make a good point. The tattered suit from the official image certainly didn't get that way because of a wrestler.

I agree 100%!,I personally always focus on the positives no matter what, with the example of SM3.....

Sure I thought it was overall a damn disappointment,But I still thought&still do about all the positives over the negatives and that's what keeps me going when watching comic-book movie marathons that include Batman:Forever/B&R/FF2/DD(director's cut)/Superman3-Returns/Spidey3/GhostRider/X3/Wolverine and Punisher movies!

Where does he wear it during a Lizard battle?

Is it possible to market teasers and trailers without giving the real costume away if it exists? Maybe subtle hints at it. Hate to get giddy but it could be hard to create trailers without giving it away.

But my theory if so:
Spider-Man Teaser- Similar to TDK one.
First and Official Trailers- Mostly footage from origin area of movie and glimpses at action sequences hiding the costume somehow.

Dude if that ofificial image isn't enough proof that he got into a battle with the Lizard I don't know what to say. He has scratches on his face, and a CLEAR lizard-like scratch going through his spider symbol in the image.
