Affleck turns 42 this year. I wonder how many Justice League sequels they're planning on making. Also how many solo Batman films? If any.

Maybe they'll go the Pirates of the Caribbean/The Hobbit route and shoot Justice League 1 and 2 back to back.

Affleck looks good for his age. he could pass off as someone in his mid 30s so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch. hell, Robert Downey Jr was 43 when Iron Man came out back in 2008.

either way, i am excited! :woot:

With Affleck's age in mind, and Batman being such a central character to the Justice League. I can't see JL being a trilogy like the Avengers. Perhaps WB just wants to get the DCCU over with Man of Steel, BvS, and the Justice League (with origin movies). So, in other words, it would be equivalent to Marvel's Phase I.

It'll be a guaranteed money maker though. WB would be foolish not to plan for sequels. Especially considering that they're in need of new franchises now that Hobbit is finishing.

so when is Affleck gonna get to do a solo movie? With justice league probably being out in 2018 maybe in between batman vs superman and justice league he can maybe film a solo batman movie in 2015 and release in 2016?

I've wanted Affleck to direct a Batman movie for years. I've always wanted to see an older gritty, Batman who has to like traverse Gotham's slums to investigate a string of murders or something.

The image of a Batman traversing the rooftops of some slums and lurking around in back alleys gathering clues and evidence seems so awesome to me. After the TDK trilogy and it's bat helicopter and the bat motorcycle, it'd be cool to see a smaller scale gritty stylized version of Batman. The Batmobile needs to stay though.

I don't think we're going to see a Batman solo for at least ten years.

Flash and Wonder Woman are much more likely.

Mayimbe is beating his chest over this. "See bum juice, I wuz RIGHT!"

2018 Justice League

2019 Batman solo film with Affleck and maybe a proper sequel to MOS

As stated before, at least as of recently, Affleck has not signed to act or direct any solo Batman movies. JL might be it for him.

Is that because WB doesn't have any plans for any solo Batman movies or because WB wanted Affleck so much for the role that they agreed to that stipulation?

Or is it because Batman dies in the JL film?

how do we know this? were details of his contract leaked some where?

I really hope that WB signed him on with the intent that he will be in more than 2 films (BvS & JL)

because then I would've rather them cast a younger guy, or at least someone who would be dedicated to the role for 8-10 years.

They're making a Shazam movie, cool. The Rock probably playing Black Adam, also cool. Still no WW movie, crap.

For me the Nolan trilogy already was gritty and smaller scale.

I basically want the Arkhamverse style on film.

I figured WB's/DC's Phase I would differ from Marvel Studios'/Disney's Phase I.

Man of Steel
Superman vs Batman
Justice League

Not bad at all. I like it. We're finally getting what we want after all these years. Too bad it took WB this long. Credit Marvel Studios for showing them that the genre can thrive.

Wasn't his whole thing that Nolan was producing and Bale returning as Batman? Why is he beating his chest?

I think so, but I think he said Batman vs Superman was filming back to back with JLA.

Even then, with this bit of news, while it's nice, it's not earth shattering. It was expected to a certain degree. But not to the point of 'ToLDJA! See it came true.'

Im still of the belief that this role was meant for Bale with the intention of only signing him for Batman vs Superman + Justice League, which might end up being Affleck's contract as well.

Which is not really the case. I got the impression there were rumors of filming back to back ala the Matrix sequels, and that's not happening.

I thought the Nolan trilogy was this big sprawling big budget James Bondey Batman.

I want a Batman movie similiar to Arkham Asylum. I don't want Batman to travel to China to catch some crook. I want him to stay in Gotham.
The one think I really love about the Arkham games is the detective aspect of the game as well as it's mood and style. That was my biggest complaint with the Nolan films, the universe was too real and wasn't stylized enough for my taste.
