They don't its' to get by with a homegrown players so you don't get fined for failing the FFP. God forbid sticking a youth players name into the squad instead of buying someone on a big contract for a season. .

Ah I see, it all begins to make sense, well not sense, but you know what I mean "cynical business sense" :woot:

City have more money than China so they can do whatever suits them really, playing a different game to pretty much everyone else in the PL except maybe Chelsea.

Well that was two points dropped for Burnley.

Di Maria was our only bright spark in attack, RvP and Rooney can't play together, Fletcher is finished and Evans cannot play in a back 3, Jones is the only CB we have who isn't crapping himself constantly in this system. Why Anderson came on instead of Januzaj was the biggest WTF moment of the game by far though.

Yeah I think LVG got that very wrong, after the MK Dons game I was stunned to see Evans and Anderson anywhere near the pitch today but that pretty much sums up the state of our squad at the moment.

Still believe in LVG, to be honest nobody else could do much with this squad other than SAF himself. I guess it was never going to be rectified in this one game, more time and work to do. Next 48 hours in the transfer window will dictate the rest of this season anyway.

Damn just hit reply and lost them all in the thread changeover. :cmad:

City losing at home to Stoke!
Newcastel losing at home to Palace :csad:
Swansea winning 3-0 at home to West Brom which would take them top of the league!!

After the international break I hope we move to 4-3-3, this is about the best line-up we can field right now IMO.

Newcastle 3-2 up now from 2-1 down!

3-3 Zaha with injury time leveller
FFS! :cmad::csad:

We score in the 88th minute and still manage to not win.

City lost at home! Swansea top!

Looks like Falcao going to Madrid on loan, left out of Monaco squad, in advanced talks. They need him too, running out of players:whatever:

Why was he left out of the squad?

I can dig it. And then #StrootmaninJan. I feel like a religious zealot, but Strootman really is the best available option in his position. Pipe dreams like Pogba or Vidal do nothing but frustrate fans. LvG should really impress on Woodward that Strootman is the key piece to this puzzle. A midfield 3 of Herrera/Strootman/di Maria would be able to compete in Europe and for the PL.

Madrid's squad is getting ridiculous. And they're getting £60m for the ones they want to get rid off!

Fair play to Madrid, they know football and they know business.

So no VP at all? That would be a strong decision from a Dutch manager to who he has been such an important player. But I guess he didn't make him captain as many papers were predicting.

It's a pipe dream but they've already spent £150m so I think they could have got one by breaking the bank. And they are overpaying for everyone anyway while this is probably the most important signing of all for them. Btw I responded to a couple of your posts at the end of the last thread but they got killed in the move. :csad: The one part I remember is about Utd's fixture list.

The last 3 games of their initial relatively straightforward 6 game run are QPR away, Leicester at home, then West ham away. Then a run of 4 hard games in 6. Everton at home, West brom away, Chelsea at home, City away, Palace at home and Arsenal away! So they really need to win 2 of their next 3 in my opinion or they'll be fighting a very long hard race for 4th.

Yeah its ok I guess, I'm seriously worried about RVP, he looks like he's struggling to run for 90 minutes these days. Mata had a shocker today. Would like to Di Maria on the left of the front three and a class midfielder in that place instead then maybe we might start to worry the top 4 but as it is I just cant see it.

why Wellbeck mate? get rid move Di Maria to the left or right wing and get another centre mid.

Well done to Swansea today, top of the league and deservedly so, brilliant so far this season.

I expect RVP to be in the line-up more than rooney to be honest in LVG's system..RVP is getting slow, and he's not a 90 minute in LVG's system anymore.

I'd be quietly confident of us switching to 4-3-3 when Carrick returns as well, although hopefully he can get back to the level he was at before getting injured. Although, the fact that I'm looking forward to a 33 year-old on his last legs returning speaks volumes again about our central midfield situation.

Yeah, that particular Utd result doesn't look so bad now. And Swansea play Chelsea next!

Strootman could be every bit the same pipe dream, he just signed a 5 year contract with Roma and is one of their key men, we'd be talking about another £50M outlay to get him, from reports we could get Vidal for that right now.

I think RvP will be start enough to realize his body is not what it was after a career of injuries and now he's 31 I can see him being content with rotating with Rooney.

Mata and RvP should be on the bench, they just slow everything down right now, I honestly don't see Mata still being here next season.

Well I was picking the line-up based on what we have for definite, but even then I prefer Di Maria as the left sided AM, it allows him to utilize more of his talents than a left wing role. Replacing Blind with Strootman and Welbeck with Reus would be the dream ticket.

That's the worry, Carrick has always been a slow starter, has less pace than ever and is now 33, I think this is likely his last season as well.
