Bull**** obviously, but I'm sure Ronaldo would be welcomed back at United.

Radio MARCA: Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't feel protected by the club

"Ronaldo has decided not to play again in Spain," Nuno Luz, a Portuguese television journalist and one of the best connoisseurs of Ronaldo, said to Radio MARCA.

"He considers that he has been harmed by this fiscal issue and nobody is defending him.

"He did things properly but now his will is to look for a new club."

Though the player enjoys living and working in Madrid, it's clear that the problem has driven a wedge between Ronaldo and his employers.

"He likes Spain, he lives in a perfect city like Madrid, he has a Spanish girlfriend, but at the moment, and he won't say it, Ronaldo doesn't feel protected by Madrid," Luz continued.

"He's pissed off because it's not a player issue, it's a club one in the fiscal sense, but I do not want to talk about this too much because I know a lot."

:funny: "Fiscal issue" :funny:

I hope all the tax avoidance officers are going to be as harsh on Ronaldo as they are on all the other footballers who defraud the tax man.

In any case, I sincerely hope this fiasco doesn't tempt United into trying to lure him back to the PL at this stage of his career.

CR is not leaving Spain. He's not leaving Real Madrid.
CR wants to be on the spotlight of world football, break records, win trophies and cement himself in football history as one of the greatest footballers ever. Real Madrid is the club to keep doing that and he knows it.

It could be a storm in a tea cup and him and Madrid might kiss and make up.

Something I'm curious about though is why all these tax evasion cases are mostly happening in Spain, Messi and Ronaldo (and I think Neymar?) have all had cases against them, but in none of the other big leagues do there seem to be publicized incidents like this.

I'm surprised there hasn't been any rumored offers for him yet from China.

England U21 lineup vs Sweden

Sweden generally has a history of getting good/decent results against England but you guys have an interesting U21-team so let the better country win! :)

If CR wanted he could go to China for example and just get paid even more than what he already earns in Spain but he's "just fine" at Real Madrid where he has both... the prestige and the money.

Last year he got paid a total of 87.5M€, including his salary and all his marketing deals... From RM he gets paid around 24M€ clean/after taxes per year. He has a net worth of over 300M€. Money is not that much of a issue, it's all about pride and fame... I am pretty sure he's staying at RM for many years and even finishing his career there too.

But it seems his current gripe is regarding his tax fraud allegations and RM not supporting or standing behind him enough. It could be a little game he's playing, since similar discussions came out when Messi was charged, but we'll have to see how it pans out and if any of his representatives comment on it.

Edit: to Hammer

Probably true but it's his pride which has taken a knock from being accused of tax fraud. And he could probably earn more than his entire net worth in one year there by going to Chine as the best footballer in the world (along with Messi) at his peak. :woot:

It's very likely all talk but that said he can pretty much go wherever he wants, depending on the strength of his feeling over it.

I've been following this tournemant since 2009, it's always interesting to see the potential stars of tomorr, the Spanish team in particular has a few too look out for, and England as usual have went understocked.

Have there been a few you've seen there (that weren't widely known at the time) that turned into big stars later?

Feels like Madrid know more than they are letting on,which is why they are distancing themselves from Ronaldo (imo)

Not impossible yeah, but difficult to tell without more info. The amount they're accusing him of defrauding is quite high though, so maybe that would warrant more severe action? I'm not sure though, still very curious that this seems primarily to happen in Spain.

Does anyone know what the exact difference between tax evasion (what Messi and Neymar got accused of) and tax fraud (what Ronaldo is currently accused of)

I think it might be semantic, it may be the same thing? Their laws could be different though so maybe there's a distinction but it should be the same thing.

Same,I always enjoyed watching the junior tournaments for that particular reason.
