Although pre-ordering a digital game seems kind of pointless, I guess you can download most of the files before it officially goes live. I'm not that invested in digital pre-orders though so I have a different perspective on it.

If it's going to be only digital there is no reason whatsoever to even bother with a box. Just sell the card.
