This is one of the most intriguing urban legends I've ever come across, and the fact that it lives on today is testament to how wel-concieved it was.

But the inescapable fact is that Paul McCartney is the same guy in all those films from the 60's.

I can't believe someone posted this!!

I am obsessed with this myth.

But Paul is clearly alive.

The creepiest part is at the end of Strawberry Fields Forever, when you hear John say "I... buried... Paul."

Although it was apparently "Cranberry sauce".

For some reason it's really facinating.

Hopefully someone will make a Roshomon/Hero type film about it one day.

There's an old guy that looks a lot like him that is pretending to be "Paul McCartney" today. He even has the media believing it, releasing albums under the late Beatle's name. It's sickening.

...wow. that's a really great idea.
the idea of a documentary type movie, i've heard people mention that- and it never seemed worth it to me.

but wow- rashomon style would make it really cool

EDIT-ps- on an eerie side note- "tomorrow never knows" just came on my itunes. (i dont have any of the "Paul is Dead"-centric tracks on here, so that's as close as it could get)

i knew you'd be the first to post when i saw that topic JL:)

:D

Seriously, the story this guy on the site I linked to has presented cannot be true... it's ridiculously convoluted. Apparently Don Knotts replaced Brian Epstein:confused:

Technically Tomorrow Never Knows would have been recorded before Paul's death, but eerie nonetheless.

Apparently Paul's replacement was Canadian... which raises the question of his accent.

have you heard of the whole Klaatu thing, JL?

Nope, what's that about?

I just realized why you don't believe in a real religion. That part of you that would believe in one already has it's hands full...

Looks like him, talks like him, sings like him.....it's a great story but the ammount of effort required to pull this off over almost forty years is almost inconceivable.

What I don't believe is that it wasn't a deliberate hoax, atleast on some levels.

Here's a great site about it:

One issue I have with it is that to pull this off, a LOT of people would have had to have been brought in. Surgeons, cops, family members, studio workers, all the people who knew the replacement... and yet no real solid evidence. No one immediately went to the press with it.

I think it's funny how much attention you all are giving this; actually discussing the plausibility of it all.

Not like I have anything better to do:confused:

That's why it's such a great urban legend; it's not completely inconceivable. It only breaks down when you apply cold, hard logic.

Pretty much.

Although, I've seen morphs on certain Paul is Alive sites that show Paul in '65 and now have the same teeth, same eyes, same facial structure... even same expressions. I honestly can't see how it could possibly be true.

this myth confuses me
