I have a shed load of x-men comics, mostly after Uncanny 60, and they are all sat in boxes. This, I have decided, is a crime.

Earlier this year my good lady wife made an investment in 'art' and, as we recently moved house, I've decided to do the same. I have decided to 'frame up', professionally, 6 issues of Uncanny with the cover best depicting the best 'bad-guys' to display in my office.

So far I've had X-Men #101 framed (1st Phoenix, a total classic) and Uncanny #43 (my earliest Magneto). I'm um'ing and ah'ing on #67 (for Juggernaut).

Basicly, I'm looking for some help/inspiration in picking which cover should be which villain. There are loads of X covers here if you need a reference. I'd appreciate your suggestions.

I probably need a good Sentinels (or MasterMold),
a good Apocalypse, and a cool Sinister or any of the group Brotherhood covers (I'm open to suggestions). I'm trying to capture the 'character' of them here, or classic moments. There's a lot to wade through and I've got option paralysis :yay:

When I've done this I might do the original team (Cyc, Angel, Beast, IceMan and MarvelGirl) and then the post #94 team (inc. Banshee, my all time favourite).

Any idea’s would be cool. Thanks.

don't forget stryfe!

purely because I hate cyclops and the idea of his skull being crushed makes me happy :yay:

and if you're focussing on villains surely you can't leave out...THE BLOB!

If you want Juggs here are some options:

although I'm sure there are others.

Edit: You wanted old covers so you can ignore the above
:(

Awsome!

#142 is undenible classic Sentinel action. Nice one. If it it was snake it would have bitten me :yay:

I think I'm gonna look for Blob in Brotherhood cover if I can. Or maybe go for something really early (an eBay treat perhaps) but without costing me the earth, like a #38?

Stryfe is a good one, but I only got 6 choices and 2 have already gone. Sacrifices have to made :cwink:

The #377 for En Sabah Nur is a beauty, and a definite possibility.

That #399 is another beauty and the word 'unstoppable' just says everything.

Cheers, this is really helpful :yay:

I like your idea and I'm in a similar situation. I might think about doing the same thing

I went into a comic shop recently that was wallpapered (the ceiling was also covered) in framed classic covers and it looked amazing.

Really nice Brood cover that. Hmmm, the Brood...

Okay, after rooting through a couple of thousand issues last night, current thinking is #67 for Juggernaught and #68 or #142 for Sentinels. #101 for Phoenix and #43 for Magneto are already sorted. This just leaves 2. One of which should probably be an Apocalypse.

The good lady wife raised a point. Not everyone is going to know who these characters are and so, in aid of them looking like a set, it would be good to keep them early (thus, in peoples eyes, 'collectable') and she also said they should probably have the name of the villain on the cover too. We'll see. This is hard enough as it is

This is still a work in progress...:cwink:

I don't know if you only wanted "X-men titled" comics, but this is a great Apocalypse pic.

That was the first old X-Factor comic I ever bought. I've always remembered that cover.

A pac of Lyps must really have a thing for Jean's hair!

I like the covers of 270, 274 and 240.
A recent cover i really liked was New Avengers #20, with magneto's helmet. It was simple, but said a lot.
