This is merely speculation, but I think it's quite possible she could have survived depending on whatever power she has, the timelines fit, and it would make for an incredible comeback for everyone's favorite invisible man.

How does the timeline fit? Shanti died when Suresh was 2 (i believe) and Claude was hiding someone 7 years ago. I don't think it's someone we already know.

I think it's someone we know, but don't know. Like...we were given all the clues to figure it out on our own in season one, and a highly deductive mind likely already has, but most of us didn't catch on. So when the revelation hits us in season two, we'll be like "ohhhhh, now I get it."

Shanti died before Mohinder was born. Remember his blood actually possessed the antibodies she needed to survive.

Btw, I don't think it was Shanti. I assumed it was Meredith (Claire's biological mom) since it seemed he helped her to escape from being captured from Primatech. i believe Claude is related to her in some way.

I'm not discounting, don't take me wrong. I'm just saying anything could have happened. Peter Petrelli's family also watched him die... for a few minutes before Claire came in and removed the glass shard from his skull.

You need to stop using other people's powers to explain holes in your argument. Cause the only way that Shanti could use them all is that she has Peter's ability.... which would also mean she had to meet more evolved humans... which she didn't because Chandra said Shanti was the first evolved human he had ever seen... meaning that she could not have met other evolved humans because it was only after she died that Chandra started the search... so he could not have exposed her to more powers... and lastly, you can't even say Linderman made her disappear cause his power does not work like that as shown by his inability to heal Molly himself and the need to call up Mohinder to help.

So Shanti is dead, unless it is revealed that her power is becoming a deus ex machina and showing up to help. She might appear in flashbacks or even dream sequences. That would explain the news of her casting, if that is even true.

It doesn't make any sense to me, being that if she were really dead none of them would know what she would come to look like as an adult, that they'd dream of her beyond the age when Shanti died (or was believed to)... But we'll see, I'm not trying to pick an argument; just saying it might very well be her, it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

I mean, Sylar, who has no healing powers of his own that we know of nor has he stolen anyone else's, survives a sword through the chest and comes back in time for "supper" in Season Two. Anything can happen.

I didn´t like Claude, he was so annoying. Maybe I didn´t like him because he always was with Milo Ventimiglia, the show´s worst actor.

Nevermind my original theory. If the news of Jessica Collins being cast as Francophone villainess Sophie are indeed true, then judging by the most recent graphic novel, The Golden Handshake, she is the one who Claudia and his partner originally mistook for Rollo Fusor and most likely the one he had been hiding years ago.

No Sylar. No Shanti. Just a new character.
