there's a lot of threads for casting/costume style, thought we could use a place to discuss how Peter should dress

what to you is Peter's defining look?

in the previous movies, they've kinda went from one extreme to another...
Tobey was ultra nerdy/ Garfield was kinda geek chic/hipster

what would be a good equal medium? that would still fit the character?

Tobey's clothes in SM1 was absolutely fine, maybe SM2 was more nerdy. ASM... well, everybody was a complete hipster there. Harry will scare more for the rest of my life...

Honestly I just want some normal, fine clothes. Like in American Pie or Jump Street.

Sigh. I honestly have no idea how people think Garfield dressed like a hipster. I was just in high school a couple years back, it's honestly not that far-fetched of a look for the average kid these days.

But anyways, I hope they keep it sort of like a mix between the current two series. Nerdy, but not super '60s nerd. Just regular clothes, sort of like Peter in TASM 2, but give it it's own look.

or maybe you just had a lot of hipsters at your school

:oldrazz:

Fedoras and skinny jeans.
anything in-between? or will he just be shirtless the whole time? (cause that might make it hard to hide his spidery suit)

Really?? Like, seriously???

THIS thread is useless and RIDICULOUS! How old are you?

EDIT: I'm sorry, I don't want to be rude, but I'm tired of the useless criticism. Peter dressed like a hipster?? You don't even know the concept of "hipster". It's not a dress code! Are you gonna tell me Barry Allen is a hispter now??

Andrew's look was fine, in TASM1. So that sorta clothing would work better.

But cut down on the skinny jeans... they suck.

make him the biggesest hipster of all time...lol...

He should dress like Sheldon Cooper, including a lot of tops with DC logos on them, just to **** with the audience.

I think Parker should dress in manner where he IS trying to look cool but doesn't pull off a specific look. Or prepy, if you want to convey a certain image right away.

And yes, Garfeld dresses how most people dress now. It's not just a hipster thing unless you're a sandals and socks type of person.

He'll rock a Kenneth Cole sweater and an overlong scarf.

Normal teenager clothes. We don't need to be beaten over the head with a 1960's or 80s idea of what a nerd wears. Being a nerd is about his personality, intelligence, and interactions with other people. Show us he's a nerd THAT way. Don't cheat and fall into lazy cliches.

Bingo.

Garfield had a good wardrobe. Stick with something similar.

I think it'd be cool if Peter had a preppy but cool look, with spiked up hair.

Good one, SW

Garfield dressed like a real teen, don't know why the fuss was there. As long as he doesn't look overly cliche nerdy or like a fashion icon I don't mind what he wears.

A Spidey suit would be nice too. :oldrazz:

maybe I am just old an out of touch with current fashion, an I mean no disrespect to any of you younger posters, but, when I look at the way teens dress today, I don't really see a lot of intelligence in their choice of what to wear

Peter should have more of an individual look, an not just dress like anyone else

unless they want to show that he's trying to fit in, or that he starts to dress like that to not stand out after becoming spidey (figuring no would suspect some average looking teen)
