Anyone happen to check out My Latest Novel's cd 'Wolves'?

If not, you probably should.

I think a distinction has to be made between synth pop/rock such as The Sounds or Polysics, and bands like Muse.
well, there's a really huge difference, Muse is a rock band that happens to use a lot of keyboards... but they sound mostly like Bends-era Radiohead, on horse steroids
not even the slightest hints of synth pop

I mean, really, I have no idea what you understand as synth pop or industrial

That is the band she fronts. It's good Iggy Pop style garage rock. I actually have never seen any of her movies so I have no opinion of her other than she makes a surprisingly good singer/frontwoman for someone who came straight from acting.
you should see the movie Strange Days, she sings a couple of PJ Harvey penned songs, they sound great

I only know her from movies and interviews. There is just something about her that just rubs me the wrong way. To the point that I just can't stand her in any capacity and my bias would probably seep into listening to her sing. Silly, I know, but it is what it is.

don't be biased, then

Praxis. The band began in the early '90s and I think they might have a new album coming out this year after a fairly long haitus/break-up/whatever. The band consists of Bootsy Collins on bass and vocals, Brain on drums, Buckethead on guitar and Bernie Worrell on keyboards. They have a DJ too but I forgot his name. Anyway, it's crazy, funky, heavy, trippy music. Worth checking out.

I just want to tell everyone that Pedro The Lion is a great band, you should be listening to them

hey, if you like pedro ther lion, you should check out damien jurado. he collaborates with david bazan of pedro the lion sometimes and his music has a similar sound. trust me, it's good stuff.

MUSE -- http://muse.mu/

One of my personal favorite bands. I would espically recommend the following songs:

Apcolypse Please
Butterflies & Hurricanes
Blackout
Endlessly
Ruled By Secrecy
Dark Shines
Showbiz

Pedro the Lion - control is possibly the best concept album to come out in years...

on a different note...here's a list of bands everyone should be listening to..but probably isn't (and i may have posted this already..if i did...oh well):

Jawbreaker (indie rock/pop punk hard to pin down...amazing band)
the Dirtbombs (modern rock and roll from detroit)
the Von Bondies (see above)
Negative Approach (early 80s hardcore from detroit...)
Void (early 80's fast hardcore from DC area)
the Appleseed Cast (indie/emo amazing melodic band)
Neil Diamond (you've heard of him, you may hate him, but you're wrong if you do)

i love jawbreaker and blake's current band "jets to brazil"
the dirtbombs are definitely cool.
i actually had an appleseed cast song play at my wedding, "steps and numbers".
neil diamond is the king. the monkees would have sucked without him.

It's incredibly boring. It's just Schism II. :o

Haven't heard the new Tool single, yet. Usually, the best stuff on their albums never surfaces on the radio, though.

Yeah... but I am just glad to hear something new from them. I am very excited about the new album coming out. Tool has done a fantastic job to keep it from being leaked. I guess there weren't that many promo's and the ones that were sent out had that thing where you can't rip the cd onto the computer without screwing it up. I'm looking forward to listening to it all... and I might try and get tickets to see them on May 21st in Boston. Here is the new single "Vicarious."

Seven pages back, time for someone to click..

The new Tool album is good. Also, the new *LIVE* album, "Songs From Black Mountain" (releases on June 13th) is pretty good. Not as good as some of their previous efforts, but good nonetheless.
