World The Problem With The Character

The problem with Superman is ****TY writers who ARE UNABLE to create great stories around him.

Does TDK's phenomenal success underscore the failure of Nolan's own Batman Begins too?

No, b/c BB positioned the character for a great sequel in terms of character, storytelling and fan anticipation. TDK's phenomenal success underscores how well BB did this, much like X-Men did for X-2.

If BB didn't connect with the audience on these levels then TDK would not have had the success it's had.

In terms of SR, it's clear now after the reboot announcement that WB understands that despite having a higher BO than BB, SR did not position the character for sequel success and a viable franchise. It also seems clear that both BB and SR were not solely judged on BO figures, but actual fan and audience reaction.
