I've seen Captain Planet & (his source character) Superman. There have been DC & Marvel Amalgams.

Superman is world known. Captain Planet: well i beleive he was rudimentarily developed ... and needs an honest refinement in characterisation.

So 2 Questions:

1] What would an improved re-designed Captain Planet , today's day & age, be like?
The whole backstory, strengths, weaknesses (how much), powers ..etc...

2] Also why not try a Superman + Captain Planet Amalgam?
What would the strengths, weaknesses be. What will be added/eliminated/new hybrid form? What will be good or bad about it?

Suggestions from anybody. Lets discuss.

Not sure if this is the right area to put this thread....but let me know.

Heaven forbid the classic Captain Planet ever sees another television or comic series, but for the sake of science: if you wanted to update him for the modern age, the mullet has to go. Give him short, messy hair. Replace the red sections of his body with brown, and change his skin tone from baby blue to rock gray, so he looks more earthy/nature-oriented.

As far as Captain Planet and the Planeteers go, it can all remain basically the same, except it would need to be presented in a semi-serious light instead of in goofy cartoon fashion.

It was the Planeteers' insipid personalities that went a long way in making it laughable. Make them believable young adults. That's easy enough.

And if there's an important lesson to be learned from any given story, NEVER say it outright. Let the viewer or reader decide for themselves what the message was. They're smart enough. Anything less is very condescending. (South Park is the only exception to this rule. . . the only exception. Sometimes even they get carried away with it.)

If anything needs serious revamping, it would be the villains. Sly Sludge? Verminous Skumm? Hoggish Greedly? Meh.

Keep Dr. Blight's appearance intact, though, albeit with a modern art style. She was an attractive woman. ;)
