The Question Of Nudity.

This sex vs. violence thing is dumb. Sex is something that is only for adults, but violence is something that should be known about by all ages.

I wasn't arguing that we should expose children to pornography in lieu of violence, but nudity in general shouldn't be this dirty little secret.

And why should violence be any more important in the education of children than sex is, you sound like you're advocating it... Shouldn't acts of love be promoted just as much, if not more than acts of violence?

If you go about it properly I don't think it will all a sudden make children partake in after school orgies, kids need to be educated about sex, need to know the risk involved as well.

SF's on a survival of the fittest kick today.

Acts of love are promoted to children, and they're done without nudity and genitals. Haven't you seen little kids greet each other? It's all hugs and kisses on the cheek and holding hands. Sex and love may go hand and hand sometimes, but it doesn't need to all the time.

Actually kids aren't part of my life so I just sort of see them in the street with their moms and such. Plus I'm talking more about shows that kids wouldn't be likely to see. Take 24 for example, I don't think any kid under the age of 12 should see that, there is plenty of volatile stuff happening at all times, Jack Bauer kicking some serious terrorist ass... I wouldn't see the need to freak out if I saw a nipple in it one day since it is an adult themed program.

On theory, people shouldn't feel ashamed of their nudity. The naked human body is the most natural thing in the world.
But it has become such a taboo over the centuries (especially in the western culture of America and Europe), that on practice most people are not comfortable with it. Heck, even now, as I'm writing this, my father asked me to help him with a chore and I told him to wait just a sec so I could put some pants on.

Also, strongly agree with Bubonic about the violence. It's ridiculous, but we have become more comfortable with our children watching people shooting and murdering each other on film rather than people having sex (I'm not even talking about porn here).
to be honest, I think modern society glamorizes both sex (especially in the portrayal of women) and violence way too much. I really don't see much of one over the other, unless your talking about cartoons and kids shows.

I wish more people thought like this...

In fantasy world, maybe.

So you support children having sex? Or are you just trying to be funny?

I am 36 years old and still have no idea what my bare ass looks like. A lot of people(the general public) have led me to believe it looks a lot like my face, so I guess I would be ok with poking my bare ass out the window to catch a breeze if it was a nice day, i suppose I could buy myself a nice sun hat for it too, that way i could let a lot of people know I was just going to ignore them, y'know, without the hassle of actually having to say anything with my face.

And your nickname is the bum who walks.
Amazing.

Good observation, lol. I will be taking my bum for a walk very soon I hope, butt, for now, I guess i am the Thebumwhowearsasunhatandlooksoutthewindowandgets offeredalotofbreathmints.
Sometimes I fool people by making them think I am smoking a cigar.

Yeah, I know. I'm not an idiot. Now, please reread what I actually wrote and try and understand it. I'm not writing in code here.

Maybe he's defining a child differently than you are. Obviously some kids 13 and up have sex, most teens 17 and up have had it, and after that you're pretty close to be considered an adult.

If he's talking about kids 12 and under, then I'm not sure where he's coming from. There probably are wild cases and child prostitutes, but they must be in the minority.

Yeah you kinda are. Unless you were the one trying to be funny.

I'm not a prude about nudity. It doesn't offend me.

I look at my fair share of nudie webpages and nudie magazines. I'm attracted to naked girls.

While I have no *desire* to see a naked male, it's nothing more than a natural human body. A penis doesn't offend me.

I'm self conscious about myself, because I am not in the best shape. I'm not comfortable without clothes, except around a few select individuals.

I would probably feel a sense of jealous if my significant other was in a position to be nude in front of other people - whether at a party, at a beach, or what have you. If I am with someone on that level, there are certain things that I'd want to be shared only with me.

My girls body is for my consumption only.
