This is one adaptation I am dying to see. I don't know if it would ever happen. I just wanna see how many of you would also like to see it. One thing that appeals to me is we've never seen a pure comic-book mystery film. I think it would be awesome to see..... done in a kind of Dick Tracy style. Of course it would have to have a lot action in it, but making it a true mystery movie, it would be like nothing we've seen in a comic book film before. I wouldn't even mind a dtv film, like I mentioned in another thread I created. Or even perhaps a television series.

I wanna know what your opinion is. And please post any Question manips you may have/know of. I've been dying to see a Question manip for a long time, almost as much as I'm dying to see a live action adaptation.

I also thought that I would post this link to a fan-made trailer for The Question... it's pretty damn good. Takes place while Vic Sage a.k.a. The Question is investigating the death of Ted Kord/Blue Beetle. It covers Wonder Woman killing Maxwell Lord and the trial afterwards with a post-mortem appearance by Blue Beetle at the trial, Superman, Batman, Power Girl, and various other storylines/character from DC.

Here's the poster for the proposed film....

I doubt The Question will get his own movie. The public will know who Rorshach is by the time Watchmen comes out and that's who he was based off of from what I read. General public will see it as a rip-off but of course that's not true.

Ironic. Rorshach is the "rip off", yet, Question would be seen as the copy. Hurm...

But, yes, I agree. I would love to see Question in his own movie. He deserves it, and I think it would make a great film. Hell, I'd like to see him in an episode of smallville. Maybe even, in the future, in a Batman film.

Either way, as much as I'd love to see Vic Sage on any screen, big or small, I doubt he'll get his own film.

The Question is ok, but as old school detectives go I'd much rather see a Sandman Mystery Theatre movie.

Every story arc felt like a television mini series in its own right.

I always thought The Question would make an excellent television series.

Yea i could see the question be a feature film, dtv, or tv series. I thought he was neat in jlu. Maybe if the public like's that roshach once watchmen is out maybe we can see this happen.

Yeah I hate the fact that Rorshcach looks so much like him. But I also think that they they could take a different approach. Instead of having that thing that Rorschach has in the Watchmen maybe the Question could have a mask made of makeup or something.... so it can actually look like his actual face (like it does in the comics.... looking exactly like a face with no features whatsoever.) I think that would look a lot better than the just kind of covering that Rorschach has over his face in Watchmen.

I want to see the Question in the next Batman movie. I think it'd be cool to introduce a cape ally for Batman since he hasn't had one yet.

I don't wanna see Batman team up with any other superhero in Nolan's films that isn't strictly from the Bat-universe. I definitely wanna see him team-up with another superhero, but it should be done separately from the Batman series. I am still dying for a World's Finest movie. I would like to see a World's Finest before I see a Justice League film, but sadly I know it's not gonna work that way.

Too similar to The Spirit, and there are other DC properties with a more varied base theme to look first.

Yea but he's nothing like Frank Miller's the Spirit. I think a TV show could work if O'Neil has a say cause that series was awesome. I always loved how some of the stories end with a cliffhanger that's never really answered.

Might be better to start with a live action tv show or mini-series first. Then build up to a movie from there.

Getting WB to green light such a project is going to be tough.

A solo movie and cameos or supporting cast in one of DC's direct to dvd animated movies would be good, too. But they have a lot of stories to cover so I doubt it would happen soon.

If they were to make a mini series, who would be able to air it successfully? Would it have to be CW since Warner Bros. co-owns it? I think it could be successful on FX for some reason.

You hear his name with too many comic adaptations, but if David Fincher could only do one comic movie, id want it to be the Question.

Not CW.

Sci-Fi would be better. Get a similar deal with Battlestar Galactica.

Agreed.

Whenever it comes to miniseries, I put the most faith in HBO.

See Sci-Fi was my first choice too, but there's nothing about the Question that warrants a Sci-Fi show. He's a detective plain and simple.

Sci-fi would mess it up. What the other guy said this would work great on FX. A network with a good track record of good tv shows.

Plus FX and Fox could run promos for it.

Yeah, it's too bad they didn't make this movie before Watchmen. I'd love it if people were able to know who the characters of Watchmen were inspired by. Closest we'll get is the people who see the Batman-Nite Owl connection, even though he's really based on Blue Beetle.

On the other hand, maybe they could advertise this fact in trailer for The Question. You know "Based on the character that inspired Rorschach from Watchmen". Something like that.

Well, DC liked to recycle the mold with a few concepts. Like, Green Arrow, Batman, and Blue Beetle are all really similar. But I think they got ideas from both Blue Beetle and Batman, even if they didn't mention it.

But, yeah, I think Rorschach will be a good test for Question. If the people don't like him (how, I have no clue. Everyone loves him) then a Question anything wouldn't be good. But, as I suspect, people will love Rorschach, so that should be a sign to WB that a Question movie would do well.

Not if they did it well like Battlestar Galactica. Question would need its own Ron Moore or Joss Whedon.
