Yeah I'm glad more and more we're pulling away from that. It's still an issue, but at least a lot of times they do that they do it like Greengrass did where it was stylistic (see Extraction of the Highway fight in Winter Soldier).
It became clear a lot of filmmakers did that to skimp on training actors on fight choreography and to just throw stunt people in every frame.

I feel like The Raid, John Wick and Netflix’s Daredevil have re-pioneered how filmmakers are filming action and fight scenes now because they all set that bar so high. I’m seeing more and more films tout the whole “we did all this in a single take” action scenes a lot more ever since and I thats only a good thing.

With the first Raid I bought the blu ray but didn’t watch it yet. So one day my cousin stayed at my place and we were in my living room and I fell asleep watching something I don’t remember lol when I was sleeping he put on the Raid and when I awoke all I saw was Rama and his swat friend and the older cop kicking ass in the drug lab.

That woke me right up and we watched the rest of the film and I was blown away and ashamed of myself for not watching the movie when I bought it. Anyway days later I took the film to my friends house and blessed him with greatness and watched the full film.

Years later me and same friend saw The Raid 2 in theaters and had our minds blown again lol. True story

As much as I kinda like the off putting coloring grading, this is so needed.

Yeah 100% needed. The blu ray looked like crap, so a clean up will be gratefully accepted.

Screw John Wick 1-25. THESE are the best action movies of the 21st century.

I haven’t seen these :O For shame.

Will try and find them. Better than JW is all the push I need, and even it comes up to half as good it will have been well worth it.

Oh dude DUDE. These films are master level. I saw Raid 2 in the theater and it was hands down one of the best cinematic experiences of my life. Its absolutely incredible what Gareth Evans has done with these movies.

I heard mixed things about The Night Comes for Us. Heard it was a bit too over the top.

It's perfect the way it is. It's definitely more gory than the other Raid movies because it's by Timo Tjahjanto who worked with Gareth Evans on Safe Haven from VHS 2.

Same.

Headshot and The Night Comes for Us are equally awesome and worth checking out if you're a fan of The Raid films, but I'd also recommend checking out the very underrated Merantau as well.

It's an early Gareth Evans film starring a pretty young Iko Uwais that I've never heard anyone talk about, but I saw it not too long ago and thought it was pretty awesome as well and a nice precursor to what would come later.

Granted, it doesn't have as much action as The Raid films, but regardless of that the fight scenes are top notch and show you just how talented that guy was even that early on in his career.

Looks like they're taking orders again after they sold out on the first batch. I just ordered mine.

They got screenshots on bluray.com and it looks incredible.
