Has anyone been able to gauge if the The Raid has grown in popularity? Would love to see The Raid 2 do well.....for a foreign film. When I saw the first in theaters , there were only like 15 people in there with me. But everyone had loud reactions to the film so it was cool.

There was nobody at the theater when I saw it, just me and my brother. Needless to say I had a fun time with a screen to all by myself.

Not sure why but it didn't excite me as much I hoped.

I feel like they are just showing small bits of the action. Gareth Evans has said they will not give away the big money shots. I think the fact that most of this trailer is dialogue based will throw some off. Still I loved what I saw.

Bloody awesome. I watched The Raid Redemption last night finally and I loved it. These guys are so creative and fun. The gore was great, the fights were great and the simple plot was great. Give these guys a Superhero movie with no limits pleeeeease!

Oh yeah, that's all I needed. Just enough action shots to tease all the chaos without spoiling it. Loved that final shot too. I can't wait to see how they up the ante.

Yeah, Evans said he didn't want to show all the craziness in the teaser nor the trailer, and he think trailers these days give away too much.

But it does look more like a gangster movie rather than a martial arts movie.

This looks fantastic. I'm glad that this looks like a sequel that really moves the story forward and doesn't simply copy the format of the first movie. I can't wait to see what happens. I just hope Rama makes it out of it alive. I assume he will, but you never know.

I see people saying this looks to have less action than the original. First that's hard to tell from a trailer, but I doubt that it has less. It'll be just more spread out due to the extended runtime. I'm really feeling the crime- gangster feel of this installment.I was looking forward to Hammer Girl but I think her brother Baseball Bat guy has stolen my anticipation with this trailer.

Gareth Evans tweeted that 5 action scenes aren't even featured in the trailers. That's a lot of action.

Agreed. Many South Eastern Asian gangster films are full of crazy action scenes, chases, martial arts and shootouts. As a fan of the Raid this looks more than promising!

Watched both trailers 5 times each....Hollywood, stupidly want to remake these films? Sorry to sound so negative on the first day if the new year but whoever suggested that should be axed in the back of the skull.

This premieres at Sundance in less than 3 weeks. I'm going to try to get a ticket. Gareth Evans will be there for a Q and A as well which is awesome.

What, you don't want to see a remake starring Channing Tatum and/or Taylor Lautner?

Scott Adkins should be in any remake as the lead.

If I am trolling, Casper Van Dien. :o

Is the remake still on, btw? It has been more than two years since it was announced that Sony bought the rights for a remake. I thought it was canceled.
