Which remake would you consider to be better than the original.....

I'll go with John Carpenters remake of " The Thing " over the original.

Peter Jackson's King Kong - Yeah, yeah, throw stones if you must. But Peter Jackson's version has better acting, story and character development, and (obviously) better visual effects than the 1933 original.

The Hills Have Eyes - The remake was better than the original in every way.

I like the classic version but the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake was better than the original.

I like the 1970's remake of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers more than the 50's version.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers, really good :up:

(it also fixed some inconsistencies from the original)

It is better, far better, mostly due to it being able to work today. In Jackson's Kong, Kong was the protagonist, while in the '33 Kong, Kong was just a monster. Flat-out monster movies and storybook romances just aren't realistic enough for today's audience and I think the new Kong shows that difference.

Scarface (1983) is really great, Al Pacino was worthy of an Oscar for it IMO

It's a loose remake of the 1932 Scarface

Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Maltese Falcon (had been made twice before the Bogart version, under two different names)

Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Scarface
King Kong
The Thing
The Blob (1988)

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought the remakes of King Kong and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre were better than the originals.

Scarface
The Thing
The Fly
Meet Joe Black
Ben Hur
The Ten Commandments
3:10 to Yuma

Yeah I think the Texas Chainsaw remake is pretty close to "alot better" than the original

The Fly
King Kong
Ocean's 11

MEET JOE BLACK is much better than DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY.

The Fly (Original is still good though)
The Thing (Still like the original and the short story)
3:10 to Yuma (Original is okay)
Hills Have Eyes (Original sucked)

War of the Worlds
The Thing
Scarface
Vanilla Sky
Ocean's Eleven
Red Dragon
King Kong

I don't know if the new 3:10 to Yuma is better than the original because I've never seen the original . I don't feel the need to though , I doubt they did a better job without russel crowe and bale's performances.

RED DRAGON is about ten times better than the original. I've never understood why people would prefer the abysmally acted MANHUNTER over it.

I can't believe so many people prefer the remake of Texas Chainsaw over the original.

I guess you like more stereotypical horror flash and cliches over Hooper's unique(at the time) vision of film and use of sound effects.

I Liked the newtime manchine remake better then the original.

Peter Jackson's King Kong and John Carpenters The Thing for me.
