You are definitely entitled to your opinions, and I respect them greatly, but the bottom line is that marriage can enhance a relationship, but at the same time, it can have the opposite effect...
I know a few couples, one in particular that have been together for 36 YEARS and are more in love than most married couples I know... and I know LOTS of married couples that act like they "hate" each other and are just a few comments away from divorce papers...
So while
"I" am happily married and wouldn't trade the feelings for the world, I can also look at the real world and see where a marriage certificate doesn't make a difference as far as how couples react to one another (happily or otherwise).
It would be nice if people treated the "marriage" aspect with the respect it deserves, but unfortunately, the people that do are few and far between the people that do not.
So I see & know people that are not married respecting and loving each other tremendously and that kind of love is nice to know it exists in our cruel and sad world, so why would I find it hard to believe that Peter and MJ didn't have the same type of bond?
I cannot change your opinions, but to simply call Peter and MJ "an uncommitted shack-up couple" is really an ignorant comment, because as I've mentioned, people can live together and be more happy than married ones.
It's not that hard to believe... but I can understand your moral view against it.
Best regards,
Mike
