"The Room" is the best- worst movie of ALL TIME!!!

Everything must be shot with a wide angle lens, with close ups. Lots of close ups. This needs to feel more uncomfortable than a bad nineties comedy.

And montages. Lots of montages. All set to only one song:

Establishing shots of modern San Francisco.

Even though it's 19th century Georgia.

... and we have ourselves a movie!!

Table reads at my place on Tuesday. Zero, get Tom W. to bring in Nicolas Cage, Amanda Bynes, Dame Judi Dench and Batman from Justice League Unlimited (and I don't mean Kevin Conroy, I mean Batman). DS, you're in charge of bringing chips and dip, and also a good civil rights lawyer.

Be there at 4 am sharp!

I don't know any civil rights lawyers, but I've reluctantly watched just about every episode of NCIS at least 7 times, perhaps I could represent us?

Twist!

Everyone was really in The Matrix all along.

And then another twist...it's purgatory, there been dead that entire time.

I really can't wait for Greg's book The Disaster Artist. Happy Birthday The Room!

Sure, but you need to be able to pass yourself off as a real lawyer, so you'll need all the usual things: a suit, briefcase, top hat and Greedo mask.

Both Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero have visited my local cult cinema to do directing and acting workshops, separately. Both times, somehow I made it up on stage and the first time with Tommy I was berated by him as I tried to improvise off a ridiculous script and nothing was good enough for him. He pushed and yelled at me infront of everyone and it was hilarious, it went on for almost an hour. When Greg came I got to act Tommy's part opposite him and some other people from the crowd from the original "The Room" script. It's weird because I've seen The Room so many times and now I feel an even deeper connection with it. Both times were so off the wall too, it could have been anyone chosen to come up from the crowd and I'm not really an actor I was just having some fun.

^that sounds like it would be a TON of fun to do something like that with Tommy Wiseau. Does he do workshops regularly? Where are you located at: LA?

Anybody else watching this in the theater tomorrow for Fathom Events?

A friend of mine is going. Have you guys seen the Songify of The Room? It's gold.

Today, for the very first time, I checked the total box office grossing of this movie..... $1,800 box office for a $6 million budget movie + what might come to $30,000 for one billboard advertisement staying for five years, and more.

How much did this movie profit in the years following the disastrous theatrical release of this unfathomably phenomenal failure?

I didn't get what was so bad about this movie. The writer/director/star, just from the movie rather than elsewhere, seems like a self-promoting egomaniac and that's funny in a way but not very.

The writing and acting is amateurish but not particularly bad. The movie gains some quality just for being in color rather than B&W-handheld camera as I assumed it would be.

Glad I saw both parts in the theater.

I have never seen this movie. There use to be midnight screenings regularly at a DC indie theater. I've seen The Disaster Artist. I just haven't gotten around to seeing The Room. I'm pretty sure I'll love it.
