America, in its present condition, is more of a capitalistic society than a free society. Freedom is just a hollow sales pitch until it adversely effects corporate America's ability to make money.

I  this for it's truth. *sigh*

They just want conservative voices silenced. Just like on these boards.... :yay:

Nope. Some very selective sacred cows here.

You are such a god damned tard. People here don't give a damn about another's political views nor are they trying to silence them.

The fact of the matter is that when you get political, you act like a ******. You don't back your statements with facts. You horribly generalize those who are to the left of your political views. And when you get beat, you play the victim even though you put yourself into your position.

If you think saying "Magic Negro" is a bad thing then you need to educate yourself about film history. :o:o:o

I have to write that down for later use.

Just because you do not find the jokes funny, you think he should be fired?

Its called Capitalism, if you don't like it - listen to something else. Period.

The problem with that is a lot of people are morons and will buy crappy products that have good marketing, which is why ms. Spears had a music career for a while. Capitalism in its current form can allow for crap to thrive and for quality products to be ignored and forgotten.

I like when after Hurricane Katrina happened, during a radio interview, Rush mistakingly called Mayor Ray Nagin "Ray Nager"..Yes Rush I'm sure that was an accident and that it's just a coincidence is sounds like the N word :whatever:

The sad thing is, I'm not shocked at all. Whatever. Don't like it, don't listen to it. I'd be a hypocrite if I said otherwise.

Answer:

Because his audience puts up with it and continues to listen, Imus' did not.

i definitely don't agree with his statements, but i don't think he should be fired. i just don't understand how people would want to listen to him. it just goes to show how low we've sunken in our society when people like him get the kind of ratings he gets.

But it wasn't Imus's fans or lack of them participating that got him booted. It was pressure from the Company and Advertisers.

If Chris Rock or Chappelle did this y'all would be laughing and you know it.

needless to say, I lol'ed

The difference is they are black comedians, their black, Obama is black, they get to use that word, plus their funny and Rush is not.

Let me know when Rush is black and/or funny.

Let me elaborate.

It's been stated numerous times, rappers and singers say and do worse things than what Imus said but they are sponsored by industries. They are emulated by fans etc. Imus has said worse things than "nappy headed hoes".

I am sick of the double standards. It's either ok to say certain things or it isn't. Nobody owns a word. We are either one race, one people or we are separate.

It's the *****fication of America.

It started somewhere in the 90s when the a select few get easily offended and make things worse for everyone.

Those select few seem to be lounder over the majority who really doesn't give a sh't.

Who gets to then judge what is quality and what is not? Let the people decide with their own money.

LOL, so skin color is the difference - thats great.

Rock and Chappelle mock white people all the time, they should be fired too.

Anyone remember the Eddie Murphy sketch where he dressed up as a white guy? I bet that would be considered offensive now.

How about the Mike Myers and Chris Farley sketch of the Japanese game show?

This is why people need to stop marrying within their own race and start inter-racial breeding. Then nobody would have an excuse to be offended.

Heh. Actually it has to be several generations of inter-racial breeding. I've known people who still cling to "half" their race and pretty much ignore the other.

Imus gets fired for saying, Well you know what he said, But Rush plays "Barack The Magic Negro" on his show and nothing is said about it.:whatever:

Check out the video on the right to hear it.

It's called CONTEXT. Rush did not come up with that name, "Magic Negro" - a columnist in the LA Times did, who also is black, btw. Rush also did not create the song - someone else did. But because he plays it on his show, to prove a point, which you yourself bought right into (he stated it would only be a matter of time before leftists accuse him of coining the phrase and coming up with the song, which it actually occurred in other forms of media first), he's somehow a "racist".

I don't necessarily think it's right that he played the song - as it simply gives you lefties more ammo, legit or not. But I also don't think you can compare him to Imus. Imus spoke for himself when he spewed that racist garbage. All Rush is doing is airing something that has already been aired in LIBERAL media outlets. Granted, Rush has a wider audience and thus attracts more attention, but still, it is what it is.

Look dude, try to keep up.
It's okay for Black people to make derogatory comments based on the race of White people because White people really, really mistreated Black people hundreds of years ago.
We're all responsible for what all those dead racist ass****s did.
Rock and Chappelle have endured unspeakable hardships so it's a case of "Two Wrongs Make A Right".

Understand now? :)

If Chris Rock or Dave Chappelle had news radio shows on MSNBC or CNN they probably would be fired if they said something malicious toward whites.

Oh and making fun of how white people dance isn't malicious. :whatever:

Anyone remember the Eddie Murphy sketch where he dressed up as a white guy? I bet that would be considered offensive now.
No that will always be funny. :woot:

"Silly negro." Classic!

and that was making fun of white stereotypes more than white people themselves. No one really believe white people have parties on buses when no blacks are around.

and before you say it's unfair to allow a black guy to wear white make up and imitate whites go watch movie called "Soul Man" that came out in the 1980's.
