The Same Old Wrestling Thread? It's Never Done That Before!

The promos for Ambrose/Foley would have been intense. Shame it didn't happen but as Foley said, it was for the best.

Sheesh, the trolls are strong over at Wrestling Forum... say one level-headed thing about Reigns in a thread about why Ambrose would have been better off debuting against Foley, and they'll chew you apart.

Thank god people here act with some dignity & class on the internet.

Atleast you aren't dealing with the Elitism shown over at certain other forums that try too hard to push Mcmahonisms on everybody.

- While there's still no word if international star Prince Devitt has accepted WWE's offer, word is that the company offered him a deal to where he will spend just a short amount of time in NXT before going to the main roster. Some close to Devitt noted to F4WOnline that he will more than likely end up signing with WWE.

Sidenote: Some people were said to be seen wearing Daniel Bryan "YES!" shirts on The Price is Right today. This Daniel Bryan thing just seems to be growing and growing. Drawing 500-750,000 people in a Seahawks Parade in Seattle, Appearing on the NFL network, shirts appearing on Price Is Right, getting referenced by Seahawks on Twitter and UFC figures on Facebook. Combine that with crapstorm WWE suffered during the week of The Rumble and I think it's fair to say that Daniel Bryan CAN easily lead to transcendent success if WWE gets behind it wholeheartedly.

He's already in the top 5 of Merch sales DESPITE crappy merchandise, so they cant say he doesnt "move the needle".

Oh, I'm sure he is. Wrestling Forum has plenty of that stuff.

I just saw the Jeff Hardy "Willow" video. :lmao:

Yeah. Huge limb? Come the f*** on. Everybody knows that Reigns has the best shot in McMahon land because of his look and his background. And he's no Lesnar. I get the comparison but Brock had much more going for him than look. Reigns has potential but Brock came in with far more mat skill and pure athleticism. Id never see a wrestler Brock's size do the things he did.

Exactly, Reigns has the most important thing of all going for him, the fact Vince and Triple H WANT him to be a main event guy. I also agree on not seeing the similarities with Brock. To me Reigns as the swagger and demeanor of early Diesel in more of a Batista sized package.

Roman Reigns reminds me more of ABA and especially Big Evil Undertaker but yeah I can see the shades of Diesel too

So Wilow the Wisp is making a comeback!?

Jeff Hardy's emo kids&teen marks..are likely marking the F out right now,I have a friend who's a mark for him and he's on Facebook talking about how that promo was amazing and very Raven like

Foley was going to put over Ambrose in a match at SummerSlam 2012 had things worked out.

Given today's day:

Good times.

Also isnt Willow The Wisp a Spider-man villain?...It's kind of amusing if that was the influence for Hardy's gimmick

Prince Devitt of Bavaria's offer from WWE apparently includes a term that he will only have to appear in NXT for a "short period" before moving to the main roster. He is expected to sign in the coming weeks.

Cesaro is now Cesaro and not Antonio Cesaro because some guy in WWE was like "Antonio? Eh? Didn't we have a frickin' Heartthrob named Antonio? That name ain't tough enough for a guy like the Big Cesaro. Fageddaboutit." I am paraphrasing of course. Also Big E is now just Big E although I think he should be called 2Pec.

HBO has picked up The Rock's sitcom about a bunch of sports bros doing sports bro things. People are calling it Entourage with Athletes.

WWE Studios movie Leprechaun: Origins starring Hornswoggle has been pushed back to August, missing the St. Paddies tie-in it was planned to be by a whole five months.

More movie news, Summer Rae has been cast in Marine 4 continuining the tradition of people who can't wrestle starring in the franchise. Yeah I said it. Oh and Jingle All the Way 2 is happening. And it will star Larry The Cable Guy. It's also being produced by WWE. It co-stars Santino Marella. These are things that are true.

WWE has extended its partnership with Mattel until 2019. Those of you who believe that the PG Era will end when the Mattel contract does can cry tears for two reasons today.

Christian is expected to see out his contract and at age 40 is likely to go home and be a dad to his recently born child.

Jericho didn't return this year because he couldn't agree creative plans with WWE and so opted to stay home.

Punk continues to be Stone Cold reborn as his merchandise is still the number 2 seller in spite of his absence.

Richie Steamboat and Layla are still signed to WWE despite both being expected to never return to the ring. Steamboat has a possibly career-ending back injury and Layla is dealing with personal issues.

Laurence Tueraud has agreed to join the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame this year according to internet people. His appearance at WrestleMania The First helped legitimise the risky venture for the then-WWF. Cyndi Lauper may also be inducted although I feel like she already has.

WWE hasn't signed Sting yet because they're dragging their feet, Sting has told WWE he'd love to face Undertaker at WrestleMania and has committed to meeting Undertaker to plan out the match in Taker's Gym in Texas as his last five opponents have done. There is a possibility that Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan and Sting will all be at WrestleMania at the same time, tearing a fabric in time to the alternate universe where Randy Savage is still alive and Al Gore won the 2000 Presidential Election.

Tensai may have retired from the ring or is, for the time being, a non-wrestler. He is being groomed for an announcers job and has been doing NXT commentary lately as well as other stuff.

Austin 3:16 says PWInsider's reports are ********. PWInsider reported the other day that Austin hurt himself working on Tough Enough a few years back and has been "scared" of getting back in the ring in case he hurts himself worse. He tweeted "total. ********. story." in regards to it. So suck it PWInsider.

Extra! Extra! KEVIN NASH LOOKS AT WRESTLING, APPLIES LOGIC SHOCKER. Diesel questioned how MVP could perform a "hostile takeover" of a privately held company. "It has to be her dad," he quipped.

WWE Hall of Fame 2014 will air in its entirety LIVE on Saturday the day before WrestleMania.

Bobby V, of Amster-Dam, was backstage at RAW to meet with Triple H and see the guys. He is expected to return soon but as his contract lapsed, he will have to go through full medical testing again and that is, at this time, unscheduled.

This doesn't surprise me. If you've seen some of Devitt's matches over the past year, he doesn't need much slowing down in the ring and can adapt to the mainstream style rather quickly.

The following are highlights of a recent Ring Rust Radio interview with Jim Cornette:

On his favorite role in wrestling: "That’s difficult. My first love obviously was being a manager, and with the Midnight Express it was so easy because all I had to do was say ‘hey, this is the greatest team in wrestling” and they proved it. Then I had a second career when I got into booking and match-making and I actually had a third career as a television announcer that I very much enjoyed as the lead announcer for OVW for so many years. So managing was my first love but at the same time I haven’t missed for the last 15 or 20 years not getting beat up and thrown around. So managing was my first love but I loved everything I was doing when I was doing it."

On the state of TNA: "At this point, can you **** TNA up any more than its already ****ed up? TNA, besides an inexperienced owner, had everything that they needed. Jeff Jarrett wanted the company to succeed and he’s grown up in wrestling all his life and the problem I had with Jeff is that he’s the one who hired Vince Russo, which came to bite him in the ass. They have the television, they have the roster, they had the money behind them, yes Dixie doesn’t know **** from apple butter about the wrestling business but she should have stayed out of it and let the people who knew what they were doing run it. The problem was that Jeff hired Russo. Russo gave them the TNA stench from the start that they have retained, they lost their chance to make a first impression which is a shame because no one will ever be that close to challenging Vince McMahon again."

On using honesty in wrestling today: "The right kind of honesty but just the stupid **** about ‘we’re going to do a worked shoot’ that’s come along recently or **** that nobody gives a **** about or doesn’t understand because it’s ‘too inside’. Jerry Jarrett looked at it very philosophically; he had two top stars named Jerry Lawler and Bill Dundee. And while they respected each other they had problems with each other and were completely opposite people and there was a edge that you could feel even when they were partners. Jerry Jarrett always said with anything he did in wrestling he wanted to tell the truth and what people knew was the truth for as long as he possibly could. Then, when you throw in the work, then people say ‘well A was true, B was true, C must be true too’. But when you are just preposterous from the start no one buys into it because its preposterous or when they do these ridiculous ‘inside’ things almost as a rib on the talent, the fan doesn’t know what’s going on. Tell a simple story, tell it logically and make it credible and somewhat believable. Then get two guys who can carry it off on the microphone and in the ring; that’s how you draw money."

Steve Austin is an assh*le for getting everybody's hopes for the past three years since he knew he wasn't going to come through on wrestling Punk. Fu**, man...

I'd rather see Austin doing his podcast for the rest of his life than him having one more match. His podcast is amazing.

Top Five Pro Wrestling Geniuses Not Currently in the Business

3. Jim Cornette
Although Jim Cornette is unquestionably a wrestling genius, he may be unable to return to the industry because all of his bridges are now ash. Cornette initially rose to stardom as a hilarious manager in Memphis and Mid-South. His sense of humor eventually saw him work color commentary. Later, he garnered a great deal of respect for his work in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), Ring Of Honor (ROH), and TNA. Despite his many critical shoot interviews, if a promoter wanted his company to ascend to the top of pro wrestling, he'd hire Jim Cornette as his creative director.

That guy doesn't know what the hell he's talking about in regards to Summer Rae. Anyone who watches her matches should see that she "gets it".

Who is dissing Summer Rae?

Whoever wrote that big report that Kaleb quoted up the page.

Unless the idiot watched NXT, he's probably never seen her wrestle. She might not be a chain wrestling expert but she's pretty good with the limited style she uses and she's actually a good character overall when allowed to be on the mic.

Yep. Plus she does little things during her matches that add to her character.
