So guys, on a completely unrelated topic, if you had to set up a round robin tag team tournament with guys on the main roster & NXT, how would you do it? Similar to NJPW's World Tag League, but I'd change the format slightly - 16 teams total, 4 blocks so each team has 3 matches, then the top 4 teams are seeded into a single elimination tournament.

My personal preference is to use underutilized talent & avoid guys in the midst of a possible push (like Cesaro), teams likely on the outs (like The Shield & The Brotherhood), break up teams that just aren't working that well (Rybaxel) or reform a couple of teams we haven't seen in a while. Just a fun little distraction... if you happen to have a name for a thrown together team, go ahead. Here's my 16 teams.

1) The Usos
2) The Wyatt Family
3) Los Matadores
4) Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal (The Band)
5) Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel (Airstrike International)
6) Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins (The New York Connection)
7) Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler (The All-American Americans)
8) Drew McIntyre & Wade Barrett (The Empire)
9) Ryback & Evan Bourne
10) Mark Henry & Darren Young
11) Camacho & Ricardo Rodriguez
12) Kofi Kingston & Adrian Neville (from NXT)

Teams from NXT:
13) The Ascension
14) Enzo Amore & Big Cass
15) Corey Graves & Baron Corbin (The Filth Parade)
16) Oliver Grey & Danny Burch (London Calling)

While it's never going to happen, it would be a fun way to utilize the talent that's already there & maybe not doing a whole lot. Plus, it could be a running thing on TV for a couple of months & then have the semis & finals of the tournament on a PPV to play up its importance. It could be a fun concept & help with the direction of certain characters... You might find that two guys thrown together have really good chemistry, and if they don't it's only a temporary thing & could lead to possible feuds & storylines.

Back in the mid-late '90s, my brother and I used to talk about how cool it would be if all of the major promotions (at least the US ones) would come together for a tag tournament like the old Crockett Cup.

I can't remember the exact time period, so some of these teams might not have been together depending on the exact moment/year, but think of a tag tournament with the likes of...

Road Warriors
Steiner Brothers
Dudley Boys
Hardy Boys
New Age Outlaws
RVD and Sabu
Edge and Christian
Harlem Heat
The Outsiders
Faces of Fear (Meng and Barbarian)
Any two representatives from the Four Horsemen (preferably Benoit and Anderson, for me)
Sting and Luger

Some of these might be slightly out of that period, and I may be missing more, but there were some damn good tag teams around then.

Antonio Cesaro was the United State Champion for 239 days and nobody in general seemed to care. One year later, he's over as Hell and on the verge of becoming a top player. I don't get it. :S

I think it's mainly due to the fact that he was badly miscast as a generic foreign heel who happens to speak five languages. He's got a great moveset for a babyface too: the Cesaro swing is a crowd-pleaser, the vicious uppercuts, and others he hasn't even utilized yet. Plus, his time in the Real Americans has given him a catchphrase (and that's half the battle to getting over it seems).

Two words: Zeb, Coulter. While I still feel the Real Americans gimmick doesn't work with such an obviously foreign wrestler, it almost doesn't matter. Zeb's character and mike skills have truly downplayed Cesaro's weaknesses, and highlighted his strengths. As strange as it sounds, the Cesaro Swing would not be such a well-received move if not for the fact the Zeb has helped pre-establish with the fans that we're allowed to have some fun with these guys.

THE MOTHER****IN' RAINMAKER!! :awesome:

Antonio Cesaro was made to play a stereotypical 'evil foreigner' when he was U.S Champ which is something that has been done to death.

Cesaro's real strength is in his wrestling. He is one of the most solid wrestlers on the roster and he can have five star matches with some of the more talented guys.

That's a huge part of it. You are right. The other key ingredient is that he isn't jobbing every week like WWE likes their champs to do.

You know what match I would love to see this year?

CESARO vs LESNAR

Enzo Amore is one of the few guys in WWE who actually makes me laugh.
Damn that crazy spectacle of Japanese wrestling. Is there even a reason why that dinosaur is there other than it looks cool? :funny:

Reading the last 2 pages why do I get the feeling that me and Sweetre have accidently brought Kidpolean back with us from the Wrestlezone......

This was actually something I was thinking about the other day, 3 matches off the current roster I'd love to see but we probably never will, and Cesaro vs Lesnar was top, followed by Bryan vs Taker and Dolph vs Triple H (under the right circumstances).

According to F4WOnline.com, Daniel Bryan's WrestleMania 30 opponent remains undecided, but it seems as if the previously "locked" match of Bryan vs Sheamus will not be taking place, and the two most discussed match ideas for him include Daniel Bryan vs HHH, or a Triple Threat match involving Bryan, Batista and whoever the WWE World Champ is come 'Mania.

It's also being speculated, based on the way Randy Orton has been booked the past couple of weeks, that Orton might not even be Champion come WrestleMania, so it's more possible than ever that a title change could take place in 2 weeks at Elimination Chamber.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the Sheamus vs Orton match this coming week.

Because he's ready to come to the Big Leagues with the A+ players? :oldrazz:

SHH vs Wrestlezone...sounds like we might have to finish this at Wrestlemania :hehe:

LOL he'll probably job.

Regarding groundwork for a future feud, Have any of you noticed that Reigns can do awesome feats against the likes of Cena, Sheamus, Punk etc BUT everytime he's in the ring with Daniel Bryan, Bryan one ups him most of the time? I know I shouldnt think too much of it but I'd love to believe that they have a Bryan vs Reigns feud planned in the future once Reigns is a successfully proven Main Eventer.

I don't know why they keep going back and forth on Bryan, but me thinks a certain COO doesn't want to do the job. :oldrazz:

That would be great. I'd like for Reigns to stay "tweener" for a while. I mean, even with his current face turn teases, he still does very heelish things from time to time. Maybe he breaks from The Shield by WM and remains heel/tweener for a while, doing the very slow change, finally going full face around Royal Rumble.

I honestly see Reigns vs Cena happening in the main event of WM 31, to do an official passing of the torch. With that, I'd love to see Cena as a face champion, and as the match with Reigns gets closer, he sees his time coming to an end, becoming more desperate and finally making the heel turn heading into WM, even if it is temporary. If he just spent a month or two full heel, he could do the turn-around at WM after the match like when Hogan shook hands with The Rock and all that.

Try to come up with a customized Wrestlemania Card using past Wrestlemania matches, the catch is that every wrestler on the card can only Wrestle once, so if you want Austin vs Bret from WM 13 , then you cannot also have Austin vs The Rock on that same card, and also Every title must be defended.
MY WM card
wwe title
Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle (WrestleMania XIX)
Intercontinental Title
Macho Man" Randy Savage vs Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat (Wrestlemania III
US Title
Big Show vs. John Cena (WM20)
Tag Title Match
Edge&Christian vs Hardy Boys vs The Dudley s (WM2000)

None title matches
The Rock vs Hollywood Hogan (WM 18)
Shawn Michael s vs Undertaker (Wrestlemania 25)
Bret Hart vs Stone cold Steve Austin (WM 13)
Randy Orton vs CM Punk (WM 27)
Kane vs HHH (WM 15)

Completely makes sense and sounds like a great idea... So it probably won't happen. :csad:

NJPW must have a HUGE budget to rent a Dino from Jurassic Park for an entrance

They're the 2nd most profitable wrestling promotion in the world so they obviously go all out on entrances(hence why Devitt has the best in all of wrestling right now). ;) :D
