As some of you may know I've been speculating, and even arguing that Gwen will die in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. There are just so many reasons for this to happen at this time...

Of course some, actually many, didn't want to hear it, or didn't want to believe it. From the "death shroud" (Green Jacket) to the bridge filming, I've debated the evidence, yet some just said "that's a red herring".

Well, I think it's truly time people just accept the inevitable. I believe, from the recent trailer, that this is the actual shot, from the end of the movie, when Spidey is fighting Harry-Goblin, that Gwen will die:

"Swik!"...

"Snap!!"...

"Did it. Spider powers, I love you!"...

Oops!

"You killed the woman I love!"

Actually Andrew, I mean Peter, you did!

At least we'll see Gwen in a nightmare sequence in TASM3!

Well its not just denial… we really don't know if its happening or not. But there are many signs pointing to her death.

I personally think its possible she won't die, its defo true she could die there but there are several reasons I think It could be out to mislead, a fake out

Either way I think Norman will have a role in TASM3 as a villain, so to make Harry that character who Peter wants revenge on I'd be surprised where they would go there

Also I doubt Peter will shout "you killed the women I love" because it works in the comic like a lot of dialogue but wouldn't work on screen I don't think

As far as that line goes, it all depends on the delivery. It could work on screen, just depends on how its done.

But it can go either way with her death… its a 50/50 chance she will make it.

I agree, it is unlikely that Spidey will be yelling out "You killed the woman I love!", but I think it would be very powerful to have Peter swing down with Gwen in his arms, thinking he just saved her, lay her down, try to rouse her to find she is dead. He would scream out with very powerful emotions, first showing pain, possibly a little guilt and then, of course, anger.

Fade to black...

When you say "fade to black," do you mean thats the end of that scene or the whole film?

I know it's unlikely to end the film on such a downer, but boy it would have people talking and chomping on the bit for the next one.

Personally I don't see Spidey going after the Goblin (to get his revenge) in this movie. It will likely be in TASM3. That means that this scene is likely from the end of the movie. So just like the comic, Gobbie uses Gwen so he can escape. Drop Gwen, force Spidey to save her, get away...

Not sure where to go from there, unless it would be to Gwen's funeral, and that would be a bit of a let down after such a powerful scene. Maybe they could go there, with no speaking, just sad music, and then show Peter's anger as he turns to walk away...

If you think about it, most films like this have the bad guy taken down at the end and then there is a small celebration (of sorts) before the credits role. But if you're going to use the death of Gwen to facilitate the villain's escape, then you can't use this normal style of super hero storytelling. I believe a more abrupt ending, after the emotions of her death, would be better and more talked about...

They won't end the movie right after her death, trust me.

I agree that she will die in this movie, but that definitely won't be the last scene of the movie.

Isn't the last shot of the film supposed to be Peter Parker sitting on the ledge of a building looking really sad?

That's the last shot they filmed. But think it will also be the last shot of the movie.

I guess we can speculate where they would go after Gwen's death.

So, if Gwen's death is towards the end of the movie, after Electro is taken down, and her predicament is used, as I believe it will be, for Harry Goblin to get away, then after Peter realizes that she is dead and we see his emotional breakdown, where can they go?

Would he leave her lifeless corpse in a fit of rage in order to try to track down Harry to enact revenge?

Would he storm over to Oscorp in the hopes of finding Harry there?

Would he go home and talk with Aunt May?

Or would he go to some rooftop and spend the night in misery?

The only place I can see them going, other than possible the rooftop idea, which is a bit repetitive, is to her funeral. Would he actually attend it this time, or would he be in his Spidey uniform watching from afar? I could see him swinging down after everyone has left, in the rain, to stand before Gwen's tombstone, which would be right next to her father's. That would be powerful and I could see him apoligizing to Captain Stacey and promising revenge.

Then fade to black...

Well its not just denial… we really don't know if its happening or not. But there are many signs pointing to her death.

I think they want CB fans to be thinking that.

My bet is they'll keep her until ASM3. Build up the relationship more before doing the deed.

I'm 99.9 percent sure she's dying in this film.

I think she could survive just because the obvious attempt to show it in the trailer which could be a mislead (there was rumour about a fake out death a while back) plus Normans role in the next film seems like its gonna be a big one but if Harry is the one who spidey will blame then I dunno where the whole Harry and Norman thing will go when it comes to how Peter will look at them, Norman responsible for his parents after all

She could die but I can see reasons why she may not also

Man I feel she wont and i believe they will fake it out I know there's alot of evidence but what Marc said "What you think will happen isnt going to happen." Regardless of the trailers we really don't know

Like I said in my earlier post, I believe its a 50/50 chance. Can easily go either way. We simply do not know.

The fake out will probably be at the bridge, with her real death coming at the clock tower.

I know it could go either way, but I have a strong feeling that she's not going to die in this one.

Gwen and Peter's relationship will surely have its ups and downs though, and if she does end up living, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to break things off for a while by the end of the movie.

The fake out will probably be at the bridge, with her real death coming at the clock tower.
Y'know, I don't think much is going to happen by the bridge. We see Spider-Man at the clock tower dropping down on one of the gears shooting webs towards the ground (assuming he is trying to catch Gwen). They are not going to do the same thing twice in the same movie.

Chances are, the bridge scene is only an easter egg and she will get kidnapped by the Goblin there. Who knows?

^ Yeah, I doubt they'd have Gwen fall to her death twice. If there's going to be any fake out scene at all, it'll be at the clock tower, especially with that clip of Spidey shooting his webbing in the trailer.

I really don't know what to believe. But I'll admit that I want to believe that it's a fake-out, so I'll probably keep arguing that position. But I really can't be sure.
