I'm not familiar with the old radio serial or the old pulp magazines from the 30's but I do know that The Shadow inspired artist Bob Kane in creating Batman and to a lesser extent Sam Raimi's Darkman.

After catching this flick on HBO I didn't know what an interesting movie this is, and of course the comparisons of Alec Baldwin as Bruce Wayne are there, it's sort of like a Batman movie but set in the 30's or 40's.

I was more intrigued by Jerry Goldsmith's score that I bought the soundtrack online.

Has anybody else watched The Shadow and would a present day Shadow movie work for todays audience?

The Shadow is AWESOME! I love that movie. Its a bit underrated these days however. :csad:

I've never seen Shadow but Ive seen Phantom more times than I can count

Check out Shadow. It kicks ass!

The Shadow is a really fun movie. Alec Baldwin kicks ass in it too

Considering the character is best know from a radio program, this was one of the better comic live action movies. Alec Baldwin was a serious actor, well more serious than he's been back in tha day.

This movie kicked ass, Genghis Kahn (sp), I wish they had made a sequel!! It was pretty hard.

This movie was awesome, wish they would have released it on DVD in Widescreen.

This movie is very underrated.
I LOVE this movie.
I always bring up this movie and The Phantom all the time in this forum.

With a bit of modernization, hell yeah.

Shadow is good, not briliant though, lacks a decent villain as such, and the supporting story fails to meet the darkness necessary.

I'd like to see another shadow, as I'm a huge fan of the pulps....

You mean the Shadow in 2007? Absolutely not, because it's inherently about the gangster era, just as RoboCop is about the 80's.

Anyway, The Shadow is one of the most entertaining movies you'll come across.

a shadow move in present day could work, but the character of the shadow would have to stay the same, still being quite a peroid character, but with a decent script it would begreat still.

I never watched The Shadow in its entirety but isn't he like a magician or have like ESP powers or something like that?

Thought this movie was pretty good!

i have seen both the phantom, and the shadow. I really loves the shadow. It was well done, and has a great story. The phantom was fun, but man does treat williams ham it up!
