The Single Greatest Episode of Television Ever

I loved that episode. :(
"To hell with him!" :( :( :(
I always get emotional with that episode. :( :(
:(

Remember the very last episode of Fresh Prince when the whole family splits up and Uncle Phil tells Will "I'm gonna call you on Sunday, you better be by that damn phone." and then they hug with tears in their eyes.

Greatest?Hard to say. Buffy had plenty of gems I've mentioned ad nauseam,so I'll stay away from that. Alias had an excellent series premiere. It also had a number of cool eps,but among my top favorites is "The Telling" in which Syd confronts her mother, rescues Will(only to put him in danger much later),and confronts the woman who'd been playing her since midway through the season,in a kickass fight scene thats even more thrilling knowing she's wearing her best friends face.

As far as Alias, I've gotta give the best episode award to "Phase One". In one episode they completely changed the series, taking down the "big bad" so much earlier than expected and then you find out Sloane was steering this event the whole time.

So many episodes...which one is the "single greatest?'

I think I will cast my vote for "Last But Not Beast," the episode of Dexter's Lab where Dexter and all the ancillary characters from the show (Monkey, Justice Friends, etc) must team up to fight the Japanese volcanic monster Badaxtra.

"Go, Dexter Family, Go!"

I recently rewatched an old A-Team gem, where a group of criminals who've been foiled by the A-Team one too many time hire a sort of anti-A-Team. The A-Team proceeds to get schooled except for Hannibal, who pretty much singleandidly rescues the others (even though the rest of the team are almost succesful in an escape, but end up captured again through a slip of the foot). Either way, it all leads up to the final moment in which Hannibal confronts the leader of the other team and says these great words:

Hannibal: Now the next time you think you want to take somebody out pal, don't get yourself a squad, get yourself a team.

It's made all the better by a seemingly random explosion of a truck behind him as he lights his cigar.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Becoming part 1 & 2.

Nothing will ever touch it's brilliance

I don't watch a whole lot of TV but...

The Dead Zone - Pilot, Season 4 premiere
Justice League - Starcrossed three parter, The Savage Time three parter
BatmanTAS - Robin's Reckoning
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - Will's dad (I really liked that show)
Seinfeld - The Opposite (George does everything the opposite of what he usually does)

I'm really not into the one hour drama\action tv shows except for The Dead Zone on USA

other goodies:

Batman Beyond: "Meltdown"
Superman TAS: "Apokolips...Now!"
Spider-man TAS: "Turning Point"
Batman TAS: "Over the Edge"
Seinfeld: "The Bizarro Jerry"

Is that the one where whatshisface dies and Supes goes nuts? If so I love that ending.

Alright this is old but Amazing Stories, Produced by Steven Spielberg.

I remember one episode (think it was actually the pilot) With this WW2 bomber that's coming back after a mission and the belly gunner is stuck and the landing gear won't come down. So the gunner starts drawing the plane with these huge cartoon wheels and when the pilot tries to drop the gear again out pop these cartoon tires.

After they cut the gunner out and everyone's moved away from the plane, he's in this trance then they slap him he wakes up and the tires disappear and the plane crashes to the ground.

Thats the one.

For me, it's not really episodes that I remember as much as moments during episodes.

Probably the most classic scene in television history was on an episode of cheers, where Sam had bet on an informal game of "21" Basketball between his bar and the upstairs bar.

The Upstairs bar brought in two college kids as ringers and when they entered the front door to introduce themselves, somebody bounced the ball to them hard and one of them caught the ball one handed and held it upside down in the palm of his hand.

It was kind of a real-shiat moment.

If I had to go for a moment during an episode it would be in the Angel episode Lineage where Wesley shoots his Robo-Father

The first post 9/11 episode of South Park was really well done. I just recently saw it.

Classic!

If there was a Kid's Show column, I'd have to vote for the episode of "Punky Brewster" where Cherrie gets stuck in the refrigerator while playing hide-and-seek.

That episode used to bring me to tears.
