Read it about five years ago, got the reissued edition that had all the stuff King had to take out when the book was first published. I really liked the book, haven't seen the movie. Or, I haven't seen all of the movie.

Book Flagg is a badass. The TV Flagg doesn't seem to hit me in the same way the book Flagg did.

Read the unabridged version....Ive seen it in Borders for like 9 bucks....this is a piece of fiction that needs to be read....heathens

I take it the abridged version is not that good? I was fortunate enough to get my hands on the complete masterpiece

its like a theatrical film and a directors cut.....the original version is good on its own, but reading the unabridged just gives a much better perspective

That's because TV Flagg was ****... They guy they got to play him seemed like he should've played a dad on some family sitcom, not Randall Flagg.
Nice as it may have been in the early nineties, the miniseries was not a great adaptation and didnt age well IMO. Someone needs to do the book justice. And if that person is me, so be it. :)

I was planning on two three-hour-long movies.
I just need this **** on the big screen. HBO doesnt cut it.

A band of Brothers type miniseries would do just fine.

For those that Liked Flagg. You can get more Flagg in the Dark Tower series. single handedly the greatest book series evah!!!

I love the Dark Tower. But the 7th book kind of seemed lazy to me. Like King just tacked the ending on because he wanted to be done with it.

Boooo!!!! I loved the ending. I thought it was a really cool way to end it. Plus I saw that coming at book 4.:o

Was it
What the Turtle told Roland that gave you the clue?

I have just started this; I'm up to the first chapter where we meet Nick Andros. So far Larry is my favorite character.

Larry, Nic and Stu FTW!

Absolutely. It was a joy to read their segments in book one. It's a shame they got a lame actor to play Larry in the miniseries. He was my favorite. Sinese did an okay job as Stu. And as for Rob Lowe, I guess he did okay... it's hard to fail at playing a deaf-mute.

Not really. For some reason I just thought that ending would be so Stephen King like. Isn't one for happy endings. I was actually thinking that Roland may not make it to the Tower & that Jake was going to be the one to go. I was really hoping that wasn't going to happen.

So I was happy with the way it turned out. As King put it in the intro to the ending. How would you have ended it? This story wasn't about the destination. It was about the Journey.

Oh my god, know who else I loved in the book? Tom Cullen. I loved the Parts when him and Nick first met, then when nick said that he was going and how Tom reacted I almost cried. Seriously, this is a good heart pounding/breaking book.

M-O-O-N. That spells "I ****ING LOVE THIS BOOK!"

THis really is a great book and everyone should read it. Oh, and although I didn't hate her, I didn't care much for Fran.

Fran grew on me. She was annoying at first.

I hated... and always will hate "the trashcan man"

All his chapters until he was found by Lloyd and Flagg were just useless to me. I found them all too easy to just skim over. Every other characters chapters were great, though. I loved the stuff with Larry and Rita Blakemoor. And with Nadine Cross too.

Rita Blakemoore was sad.... I almost threw up for Larry. I loved Larry's transformation.

I just loved his parting words with her after he *****ed her out for wearing sandals: "All right, have a good time getting raped and murdered." Oh, Larry... you're all class.

Don't get me started on that Nadine *****. Her best part was her window scene. And HArold? Really. I hated him more than anything. Even Flagg. Harold took away--not gonna even say it, it'll ruin parts of the book, you know if you read what he did.
