Those are full of win! The casting choices alone are epic, to say the least.

I saw The Gunslinger poster in the awesome pics thread, love the rest too

I love how they used Eastwood as Josey Wales in every one too, that's almost exactly how I imagine Roland.

I wanna print these out and make a banner.

With Tom Jane as the kid... :-P

I just watched Dreamcatcher the other night, and I don't remember it being so good. Seriously, I think it's vastly underrated. A fantastic cast with Thomas Jane, Morgan Freeman, Jason Lee, Timothy Olyphant, and Tom Sizemore. I definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it in years.

I thought the book was better than the movie only because they cut a lot of stuff out. Love Thpmas Jane though. :D

I ordered The Stand and Insomnia off of amazon cant wait and I just finished Cell I really liked it. I also started book 3 of The Dark Tower books im loving the DT books.

I still haven't found a King book I haven't liked. :p

Still reading Under the Dome right now, and it's INCREDIBLE. :wow:
I'm about 500 pages in, and I have a big question for anyone who's read it:
What's up with the "pink stars falling"? There's a meteor shower over the dome that everyone in the town can see, and it's confusing the hell out of me. Especially since Cox explained to Barbie and Julia that the dome caused the shower because of winds. What does all of that mean?

Of course, if it means something HUGE later, please don't spoil me!!

Also:
How CREEPY is Junior Rennie??! :wow: Keeping the bodies of the two dead girls in the house and talking/cuddling with them. Yuck!!

You're really going to love The Stand. It's not only the best King book I've read but definitely on my top ten list of best books ever read.

I've started on It and have The Night Shift waiting on deck.

It's been a while since I read it, but if I remember right

they were pink just because of all the crap on the dome up in the atmosphere. It was just a meteor shower viewed through the accumulated stuff on the dome.

My second favorite King novel after The Stand.

Dark Tower question:
Is it okay if I just read volumes 1-through-7 in order?
In other words, is it okay if I simply stick to the Dark Tower series, or is it absolutely essential to read some of King's other works?
Will I miss anything by not reading the connected novels?
Or will I be okay by just reading Dark Tower 1-7?
Thanks!

You'll miss the awesomeness of King's other non-Dark Tower works... and a few of the tongue in cheek references to some of those works.

But ultimately, plotwise?

No.

You'll be fine if you just read those...but I recommend at least reading Salem's Lot anyway, if only for the nice surprise connection later on in the series.

I'd love to have that, but I just can't imagine spending hundreds on a book. Maybe later in life, but not now. Especially since I've mananaged to piece together the entire Sword of Truth series in hardcover for like 60 bucks.

So I was reading The Night Shift and the first story is called Jerusalem's Lot. After reading it is this story kind of connected to Salem's Lot? It's been almost a couple years since I read Salem's Lot but certain things sounded familiar.

Awesome shirt on teefury today, but its gone after another 11 hours or so, so if you want it buy now!

Been a really long time since I've read either of those though I have them both on my shelf. It's not out of character for King to go over the same territory more than once, think Dark Half and Secret Window. :)

I think that one takes place in the early days of America, like Colonial times. Read One For The Road in Night Shift, it follows up on Salem's Lot( Wish there were more).
