Poor hygene is how this came out in the first place.

Maybe if people werent constantly over-medicating themselves for every little thing, their bodies would be a littlre more resistant to this type of thing.

Our bodies wouldn't be any more or less resistant to the superbug regardless of the amount of prescribed antibiotics.

The thing wouldn't likely exist in the first place if we hadn't overmedicated everybody. That's what you're getting at, right?

Im talking about peoples immune system in general. people are running for the cough medicine, aspirin, or whatever at the first sniffle or cough and not letting the body fight it off.......if a persons immune system is weak, it wont be able to fight anything off...

This bug is exceedingly rare outside of hospital, and the reason it's in hospital is because only 51% of healthcare workers wash their hands. Wow.
Bear in mind I got this information from a page that was three years old (it mentioned the bit about it being immune to antibiotics) because the link in the first post didn't work for me.

Those things you mentioned (except Aspirin...that's not for any sort of infection) aren't actual treatments, though. You can't cure a viral infection; the body has no choice but to fight, in that case.

Antibiotics, on the other hand, are handed out at a huge rate, and those can be used to cure other forms of infection. I don't think it has anything to do with weakening the body's immune system. It has everything to do with artificially selecting for resistances against antibiotics in these bacteria...in other words, making them stronger, not making us weaker.
