The Supergirl News and Discussion Thread

Should Supergirl move to the beginning of May now that Marvel abandoned that spot for 2026.

Would it be a good idea to move to the date Parada 2 took? Both heavily skew towards women.
Interesting. I wonder how they are going to market this movie. Do you guys see a Barbie type of marketing campaign for young women or maybe even the Superman marketing plan.

I would expect something closer to Superman. Considering the story, they could do something a bit different but I'm not sure how much of the pure story will be there.

Frequent Craig Gillespie collaborator, film editor Tatiana S. Riegel, ACE (Cruella, I, Tonya) confirmed on her IG page that she’s working on the movie.

I had really expected Gunn’s film to be their introduction, so now I wonder if Supergirl will feature Kara’s arrival on Earth and her introduction to Clark in flashback, perhaps to cap off the destruction of Krypton/the slow disintegration of Argo City, and present Clark as some small measure of light at the end of the tunnel.

Maybe Supergirl’s partying & planet-hopping is what puts her (and Earth) on Brainiac’s radar.

For this mystery film Gunn keeps teasing, you could take the skeleton of Loeb’s Superman/Batman: Supergirl & just swap Darkseid for Brainiac (in broad strokes). Plus, you get DC’s Wonder Woman & Batman.

If Brainiac’s invading from the future, thrown in the Legion of Super-Heroes for an even wilder spin.

Call it DC: World’s Finest

In the end, Kara leaves for the future with Brainiac 5 to set up Supergirl and the Legion of Superheroes while, in the DCU present-day, the Trinity decide they need to start a league to protect Earth…

So... Is the fandom fine with this Kara having dirty blonde hair? :sus

But I dig it otherwise.

Kara being a rebel problem child is some good counter-programming for some audiences who found the Corenswet Superman too 'corny' for lack of a better word.

This was actually a really good way to go in order to differentiate the characters.

They've always been different, though.

Yeah that reminded me of the Shazam! poster...

Hopefully we see her with the sword in later promo material.
