Here are the films up for Movie of the year:

Black Swan
Toy Story 3
The Social Network
Inception
Kick-ass
True Grit

There are six as there was a tie for the last film in between Kick-ass and True Grit.

Vote for your favorite film!

Inception

Would have voted for The Fighter if it had made it this far. :(

Since potter didn't make the cut, as much as I LOVE LOVE LOVE inception.....Kick-Ass

Toy Story 3 for me. Sad to see The Fighter wasn't on there.

The Social Network. It's grown on me since I watched it, but it was a close call with Inception. On repeat viewings I've started to tire of Inception--it may be Nolan's minimalistic, almost 'anemic' style of filming, even though he's one of the greats. I just find Fincher movies more lived in.

Nolan's films are more like show-room houses, whereas Fincher's you can put your feet up on the sofa and have a cup of tea.

Toy Story 3 for me. Sad to see The Fighter wasn't on there.

The Fighter was one of the films I nominated so it was pretty disappointing not to see it.

I posted it on the nomination thread, but here were the top 5 films that didn't make it in order of how many votes.

1. Scot Pilgrim vs. the World/Shutter Island
2. The Fighter
3. Tron Legacy
4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

It's Inception for me. I thought The Social Network was ok but it didn't really impress or intrigue me all that much.

True Grit.

Inception was fun, but not my favorite of the year, and I definitely chilled to it over time. I like Leo more in Shutter Island, and I just liked Shutter Island more overall.

I had a hard time choosing between Inception and The Social Network . Overall Inception was a better experience cinematically

i'm not surprised that inception is winning. this is the home to Nolan fanboys.

I rank 'em:

1. The Social Network
2. Black Swan
3. True Grit
4. Kick-Ass
5. Inception
6. Toy Story 3

So, I obviously voted for The Social Network in this thread.

I've got to give it to The Social Network, but The Fighter was VERY close to getting top spot. There were 4 or 5 films I really loved this year.

True Grit, with The Social Network in a close second.

Is it completely out of the question that those who voted for Inception, including myself, happened to actually enjoy that film the most this year? Is that so hard to believe? LOL. :funny:

I hate reasoning like that. It's very condescending. And if you think I'm just saying that because I'm a Nolan fanboy who managed to stop fapping over his picture for long enough to vote for Inception, think again. I voted for The Social Network.
