Superman Returns The Superman Anthology on Blu Ray.

The only thing putting me off is I already have SR and S:TM on BD, and the RTK sequence isnt included in the movie but only a deleted scene, otherwise I would be tempted to buy it but at this moment I doubt I will.

I am going to buy this although I wish they would have put in there SR: TDC where they would not only have TRK part but also have the original title scene where they had the newspaper articles bridge the gap between Superman II to Superman Returns (which is what we saw on the bonus features) and I would have liked for the Lex Luthor subplot to be put back in as well as all of the Smallville stuff and the whole Superman Returns theme (meaning the events leading up to Superman's return with the shirt rip only to forget he didn't wear the suit, etc). I would like a disc with all that stuff added in.

I don't have blu-ray but I would love to see this sequence eventually. Glad it's finally out there.

Yeah, same here, if they had put all this stuff back in I would have no hesitation in buying this set but as its all just deleted scene's still, I am not really tempted.

You can pre-order this at Amazon.co.uk. It drops the price as you're going through checkout. With shipping to the US it comes to just under 34 pounds which is a hair over $54, much much nicer than the $130 they'll be charging for the US release.

The UK release discs are region-free, FYI.

Not that I don't believe you or anything, but are you absolutely, 100% positive that a UK release will play in our Blu Ray players? I just don't want to buy something that won't play, ya know?

Edit: If you go to the Amazon.com/UK site, it says that there are 5 disks in the set that's just over 34 pounds. Here is the link to the website. Read down in the details. Plus it says that it's in PAL format, which won't play over here......

Well I don't have the item in my hand obviously so no I can't tell you with 1,000% certainly.

However, the 5 discs is wrong. It has been confirmed at 8 after a couple of months of speculation on how many there would be. It's not entirely uncommon for a pre-release to have faulty info when it comes to a multiple-disc set.

As for playing, it says Region-Free and has been reported on multiple sites that the UK release will be RF, so I suppose that it's really a coin flip. Do you believe them and Amazon who say it's region free? Or do you believe the small part that says PAL?

For $54 vs. $130, I'll take that chance; it isn't as if Amazon has no return policy, nor is it like I don't have two months to cancel before they charge me should I find information confirming otherwise.

Does anybody know what the difference is between those boxes? There's the shorter one with the Fortress motif, a taller one with the same design...but a red strip in the middle and the red one with the yellow S.

I don't get it...:/

It's one box. First pic is the box closed, 2nd it's a little open and 3rd pic is the box from inside.

Are we sure the UK boxset has all the extra features?

Even though it's region free... the original DVD boxset didn't have the Bryan Singer diaries and i'm worried this set might cut out both them and the Krypton scene from the set.

That price seems awfully low for what we are getting!

The amazon.co.uk page for the Anthology has been up since before the announcement. I'm sure they just haven't updated the page yet. I might actually send them an e-mail and ask, just to be sure.

If they were able to update the accurate info two months beforehand, that would be a fantastic thing for many of us US'ers I think!

If it gets completely updated and it is still showing as PAL, I guess we're all screwed :(

I'm going to get this set eventually, but i'm going to wait it out until it loses money off the price tag. I can understand paying 50-60 for this set, heck i'd even spend 70... but I feel like its going to come out and not as many people will buy it as they are thinking... They have those cheap dvd sets of the first 4 for under 10 dollars..and you can get SR for like almost free on dvd...like 10 on blu-ray by itself... In all honesty i would love to buy this but not for 130

I e-mailed amazon.co.uk and they replied. They said they didn't understand my concern about the set. They understand that Warner Home Video released a press release with the details of the set, but they have not received any updates from the supplier. They will update the page (with correct number of discs, features, etc) when the supplier informs them. They also said that I should wait until the release date and if the page still hasn't been updated after or before the release, I should contact them again.

Obviously I'll contact them again before the release date. I'm sure there's only one set, but the price does seem low compared to the US version. I also asked if the set really is region free, but they didn't mention anything.

I still haven't made the switch to BluRay yet....but this looks nice.

Well I'm going to go ahead and pre-order the UK set since it's region free. If worse absolutely comes to worse, then I can always return it. From everything that I have been reading, there is only going to be one set that has 8 disks. Plus I'm really excited to see the whole Return to Krypton sequence from Superman Returns. The original movies are being updated again, both the visuals and the audio have been revamped for the set.

Really wish the RTK sequence was being added back into the movie, then I would buy this set in a heartbeat, as it is, I dont think I will buy it at all, not a big enough fan of the old movies to do so.

I still wish they would just go a head and release Superman Returns TDC and just have all the stuff added back into it so I don't have to use my blu-ray menu to add everything into the movie. Hopefully they might re-release the movie with that stuff added in when it is close for MOS to come out.

Nice. Thanks for the update.

Looks like lots of cool special features! Excited for this release! Although I'm kinda hoping they will be released individually.
