I read the original AOD miniseries, and it was just very mediochre. The art was way too chaotic to undertsand (or appreciate) what was going on most of the time, 99% of the witty dialogue was just repeated from the movies, the plot was just weak. Just not worth it, IMO

I like Nick Bradshaw's art, so I think I can tolerate that part, and I don't really mind repeated dialogue (Although it would be nice for more originality.) The main thing I want is the same/similar mood as AOD.

I was thinking about buying either AOD: Ashes to Ashes or the novelization to The Thing.

Anyone happen to read that?

they aren't that good

Yeah, Ashes 2 Ashes reads more like an Evil Dead fanfic than a sequel.

And I knew Re-Animator was Lovecraft, that's why I asked.

There's a graphic novel adaptation of The Thing? I think I need to go change my pants.

Have you ever read 30 Days of Night?

No. Well, there have been some Thing comics, I think. But never a graphic novel of the movie.

I was talking about a regular novelization. Without pictures. Just words. Lots of 'em.

dude, screw those other books. GO READ 30 DAYS OF NIGHT

Story sounds interesting. I'll have to see if my comic store's got it.

Well now you went and got my hopes up of a Thing graphic novel.Have you ever read the story it was based on, "Who Goes There?"

And I liked 30 Days of Night, I absolutely hated the art on it though.

And just to keep with the on-topicness, I offer these:

I think we'd all love The Thing as a graphic novel... drawn by Mike Mignola.

And yes, I have read "Who Goes There." It seemed like a pretty nifty story, although it was a bit on the short side.

EDIT: For those of you who haven't read it, Enjoy

I believe there was a Thing miniseries that came out as a sort of sequel.

What are you talking about the thing DH ones cus this isn;t the DH one?

I don't know more than likely stays closer to the book even though the movie was real close. I remember only a little bit such as everything was a little older. I'll look more into it if I go to the comic book store today.
