The thunder- thunder- THUNDERCATS HOOOOOO!-thread - Part 2

It wasnt on their list of returning shows for their upfronts. Hopefully by some chance it comes back but CN only has their selves to blame for this not being a mega success.

But thats another remake 99% down the drain. Though CN picked up Thundercats for 52 episodes initially so I have to assume that they woul have been working on them unless CN just suddenly had them cancel it.

Scooby Doo wasnt on there either but that was a mega success for CN and the 2nd season is scheduled to air in may so who knows whats going on with that one.

We'll just have to wait and see for an official announcement.

52 episodes, no. 26 yes.

The upfronts are for shows for fall 2012, spring 2013. Not counting things about to come back.

I know only 26 were produced but I am saying that at the start of the show the creators said they were picked up for 52. So either they cancelled those last 26 and just canceled the series, or they are still being produced and it just hasnt been announced just like Scooby Doo wasnt though it is returning for a 2nd season.

Care to post that link where they said that Primal Slayer?

I personally spoke to Andrea Romano and she seems to believe otherwise. I can post you that link right now:

Can't say as I'm surprised. I'm probably amongst the minority, but I found this show incredibly dull. Quest plots are annoying to begin with, but the action and stories themselves were very muddled and blah. Plus, wasn't too big a fan of most of the redesigns and voice casting.

I think the thundertank is over kill.

it reminds me of an Alpha/Beta fighter combo from the Invid Invasion of Robotech.

Cool.

I think it's known for sometime since last year that 26 episodes have been produced. Cartoon Network may have split into 13 episodes per season to make it into 2 seasons instead of one. If Thundercats isn't returning for Fall, then it's likely the end for the Thundercats as it's in the same category as 2002 He-Man and MOTU.

Proving once again you shouldn't trust Cartoon Network with anything.

They have been pulling off this kind of thing for 10 years if you can believe that. I've said it from the start that when the new Thundercats was going to be on CN last year, I was concerned that it would be meeting the same fate as the 2002 MOTU. It looks like my concerns were justified.

Let us hope and pray that other reboots of beloved 80s properties don't end up on CN.

It's too bad. While I love the show, CN has not treated it well.

I wish Thundercats was on Nicktoons, where Voltron Force airs or The Hub, where Transformers: G1, Prime, and Rescue Bots and GI Joe air.

Err. I was hoping it wasn't true about this show ending. I'm guessing they want to sequester all the DC shows to Saturday mornings which makes it hard to place it with a proper lead in so they just decided to drop it instead of thinking of a way to keep the show.

Damn that sucks.

The show still had some untapped potential.

I agree that it has untapped potential like the 2002 He-Man series. With the lead-in to DC Nation, I hope Thundercats benefits from the new Saturday morning timeslot.

Wait, so is this coming back or not? I sure hope so.

2002 He-Man reboot was awesome! The story about King Greyskull, Skeletor, and the character development was excellent.
