The Offical Saturday Night Live Thread - Part 2

I thought Dakota herself was ok, but the episode as a whole was really, really bad.

I loved the ISIS and "say what you want to say" shorts, but everything else was either bad or just flat.

Riblet needs to never come back. That character is the worst.

That ISIS skit at the beginning was hilarious

Loved that one too. It was the best of the night.

I also loved the 50 Shades of Grey press interview, Worf M.D. and the roundtable Internet topic skit. It was a solid show from top to bottom.

Next week's guest host is Thor.

Why hasn't Evans or Ruffalo hosted?

I laughed when he first appeared but he shouldnt have joined the round table. They should have ended the scene after he got on camera. This was a near rehash of his previous appearance

I LOVED the "say what you want to say" and the Cinderella segments. The best of the night for me. Leslie Jones did good in that first one and I usually hate her.

Kyle Mooney and his shorts are awful. He is no Andy Samberg

Dakota is quite charming. She did great. I love the "I can't" skit. It's like my Tumblr dashboard came to life. :funny:

Yeah, almost all of them are really bad. They all rely to heavily on being "awkward," and most of the time, it's just annoying at worst or falls flat at best.

Some people are offended by the ISIS skit online. I can see why -- this is a group that has beheaded innocent people. But some times the best comedy is taking our darkest fears and making us laugh at it.

Last night's episode was subpar, but Dakota Johnson did a good job with what she had to work with. The best parts were probably "Say What You Want To Say" and the Worf sketch.

Better yet how come Downey hasn't hosted within the past 6 years?

He really should come back. He hasn't hosted since '96 and he was waaay into drugs back then. To my knowledge, he hasn't been banned from the show or anything. Hell, he used to be part of the cast for a season so he should come back to host. It's already cool that Hemsworth is the second Marvel lead actor to host SNL this season after Chris Pratt. It would be cool if they could get someone else to host when AOU is released like Downey, Evans or Ruffalo. Maybe even James Spader. He's never hosted before and he could also promote The Blacklist at the same time.

RDJ seems to be the type that would relish the chance to make fun of his stint as a cast member.

Of course people were offended. That skit was hilarious. Enjoyed the episode on a whole too, especially Riblet.

I'm hoping the Hemsworth episode delivers. It would be nice if another Avenger or two made an appearance. I wouldn't be surprised if Scarlett Johansson hosts closer to the film's release, since she has hosted before.

As someone who's always giving SNL the benefit of the doubt, this was seriously one of the worst episodes i've ever seen. Either that or the audience just flat out sucked. Almost all of the live skits were flat and it was almost like the audience couldn't tell whether or not something was supposed to be funny.

How did that piece making fun of a girl with broken arms for 5 minutes even pass as a skit? I guess the only highlight would be the "Say what you want to say". That wasn't too bad.

As far as the ISIS piece? Again, nothing to do with the subject matter, the piece just wasn't funny.

Kate McKinnon's Hilary Clinton wasn't bad (better than Vanessa Bayer's version) but it still could not top this version of Hilary Clinton:

Thor celebrating beating Ultron was hilarious.

Hmmm, was that a bit of a spoiler when he said [BLACKOUT]my ex Jane?[/BLACKOUT]

I thought that was easily one of the best episodes in a long time. The American Express commercial at the beginning was my favorite part, but there were some other really good sketches, including the ex-porn stars showing up again.

The chicken skit was pretty funny. "There's that laugh I love". I nearly pissed my self. :funny:

Yeah, that sketch was great. I like when they pull out something really weird and silly like that and make it work.

The one bad thing from that sketch was Kenan once again overdoing it (like they have him do in many sketches because apparently some people think he is hilarious). The gags had succeeded, and the bit with the chicken being cooked was already delivered, but they had to end it with him yelling something about it being "cooked to perfection!" It was like they felt they had to tack on one final "big" line to make sure the audience got the joke.

Solid episode. The chicken one was great. It looked like Hemsworth was gonna break when he first started talking to the chicken...

It reminded me a lot of James Franco as the Christmas tree salesman.

Dare I say season best? I can't think of a skit that I didn't like. Heck, even that fake reality show short made me laugh. Hemsworth did a great job. I never pegged him as someone that can be that funny. I can see him coming back soon for another round.

Hemsworth was much better than I expected. I cant really think of a bad skit. Great episode

it was a skit on a sketch comedy show. I dont think anything shown yesterday was supposed to be taken seriously
