I think what separates Thunderbolts reactions from others is that the latter tend to focus on certain things without mentioning or talking about the writing for the story and the characters and usually only talk about the action, maybe a performance here or there, humor, etc. When the story and the characters are not mentioned as the main selling point in your reaction, that’s usually not a good sign.
In all of these reactions, however, the main selling point and the highest praise is the writing of characters, the story, filmaking, etc. I know that seems like such an obvious,”Yeah, no s**t! All films should be like that!” sort of thing to highlight, but, for the MCU, which is known usually for prioritizing its universe building and setting up the next thing and serviceable, inconsistent or below par writing, I think that’s a big deal when it comes up.
This doesn’t feel like the usual kind of thing where people have effusive praise for a film just because they were invited to a screening. This genuinely feels like something truly special.
