The Thunderbolts* News and Discussion Thread

So since we never got a Bucky/Natasha romance in the movies, any chance we get Bucky and Yelena together? Stan and Pugh would make a cute couple

Also Taskmaster but I have a feeling since Olga isn’t in the callback for Doomsday and isn’t in any promotional stuff makes me wonder if she makes it in the movie

EDIT:

Sorry I misunderstood the original post.

It just occured to me that the completely abandoned "Bob" in all the most recent marketing and promotional material.
"Bob" just felt flat especially anyone could tell Bob isn't an ordinary dude.

Lewis Pullman's face is completely hidden in the 2nd/3rd trailer.

They should have just marketed him as Sentry for starters, than save it for the cinemas*

Does Yelena even like dudes? Her creator described her in the comics as asexual.

It's strange to me they are completely hiding Sentry in the marketing materials and yet Hasbro has fully revealed his action figure, that clearly features Pullman's likeness.

I guess they don't want to reveal the twist about Sentry, but they've already revealed Void. I feel like it should be the other way around.

I don't get the point because I don't think the other characters are really that marketable. If this was Avengers or X-Men, okay hide the villain in a shadow form, because the team looks cool anyway. But this Thunderbolts?

Sentry, based from the Hasbro toy, I bet the character looks visually cool on-screen. So when this fails at the box office next week, we know where we start about their marketing*

I don't think its opening weekend is going to set the world on fire. But, I think WOM with the reviews are going to help it leg out better than Cap 4. And to be frank, I think this film has the least issues with the international audience of the three films this year.

Great movie. Solid 8.5/10.

FYI if you don't want to get the second post credits scene (the relevant one) spoiled, don't look at the screen during the "songs used" part of the credits. They give it away.

You wouldn’t happen to remember what comes right before the songs listed?
If you can, I will try to avoid the song portion of the credits.

Easily 8.5/10 don’t know I like this or WF better after EG but probably would give this an edge due to recency and it being more personally resonated. Wish they explored a little bit more on Bob background to make the third act more impactful but whoever said the second half is MCU formulaic is just a lazy formulaic criticism on a movie he doesn’t like. I would like to be pointed out which other MCU movie second half was like that, just one, not asking for more multiple more to make it qualify as “formulaic”. On the other hand, it won’t be well liked by those who enjoy “formulaic” CBMs so it’s BO toll is likely to be anemic.

The "Score by.." portion if I remember correctly.
As soon as you start seeing songs being listed lol
It's the very last one that gives the spoiler away.

Just got tickets for tomorrow night. Haven't been to the cinemas since Dead Reckoning, I think.

So not at all in 2024?
I'm lying, I saw Companion early this year. But yeah. It's a mix of personal issues and not exactly the best cinematic experiences (too much ads, too many noisy people, bad screen projection, etc).

Ordered my tickets for Saturday afternoon. Medium size screen, but, oh well. The sacrifices I make to avoid 3D...

I don't sit through credits. Has anyone spoiled the post/mid credit scenes somewhere? And do they spoil the movie (if so, I can look them up after)?

I saw Dead Reckoning on my birthday.
Just as I saw Black Widow, the movie that acts as a prelude to, Thunderbolts on my birthday. Black Widow was my first movie after, COVID.

Movie is out since yesterday in many countries, so yeah, they're already online.
And yes, both scenes spoil the end of the movie (and what's to come).
