co-sign on sean connery, as much as i love him as an actor, list is decent

Sean Connery in The Hunt For Red October and The Untouchables
In both two films he’s meant to be Russian (The Hunt For Red October) and Irish (The Untouchables) both times he butchers the accent by soundly convincingly Scottish, he actually sounds like a stereotypical Scotsman, a bagpipe playing, haggis eating, thistle loving, kilt wearing, Porridge eating Highlander. Note to casting agents never ever cast Sean Connery as anything other than Scottish he just sounds stupid, very stupid. On the topic ofIrish accents Tom Cruise in Far and Away was equally bad as was Julia Roberts in one of her ***** films when she played an Irish women, I can’t remember the name 90% of her films blur into one for me.

Hehehehe now this has me thinking of Oldman slipping up in TDK.

I think the whole point of Pete Postlethwaite accent was supposed to be played like you didn't know where he was from.

And the one for Jason Stratham confuses me, wasn't he speaking in his normal accent cus he is English? Or did the person who wrote that thought since the movie took place in France that he was supposed to be playing a frenchman, and not an Englishman living in France?

Going into this topic, I thought "If Keanu Reeves in Dracula is not on that list then this list is garbage." Glad to see it's there.

Article fail, any person who knows anything about the Irish accent would of had Gerard Butler at No.1 and Brad Pitt at No.2

Wait, Winstone had an accent in The Departed?? Isn't that his regular voice?

That list partly sucks. But at least Reeves is on there.

The Future, are you talking about Brad Pitt's accent in Snatch? Because that was a ****ing awesome performance.

The thing that troubles me about this list is it's only (essentially) the bad European accents list. There's so many films with terrible accents from around the world.

To be fair Keanu has admitted countless times that he thought he sucked in Dracula.

Actually Sean Connery wasn't supposed to be Russian in Hunt For Red October, he was supposed to be Lithuanian :oldrazz:

Same here. I really like the movie. But goddamn his accent was terrible.

There are only a few on that list I agree with. A number of those on the list aren't as bad as that guy makes them out to be. Definitely not perfect but not horrible.

Although some of those choices are worthy to be listed , there are alot of them that don't belong on that list. Does the average moviegoeer know how a Ukranian accent sounds ?

Really i think when it comes to british or american accents, people caan easily make out when someone is doing is right or wrong. It becomes a different thing when you're going with true foreign accents like russian or polish because i think to the average person they ll sound alike.

That was a traveller accent, they aren't too hard to do. :oldrazz: I'm talking about his accent in that film with Harrison Ford, I can't remember what it's called, the Devil's Own I think?

How about Brad Pitt's accent in Inglourious Basterds..? It made an awful scene (the Basterds introduction) even worse..

Sam Wothington's american accent is pretty bad. Pierce Brosnan is an actor, where I'm not sure where's his characters supposed to come from.

I can't blame Sean Connery, when you hire Sean Connery you're getting Sean Connery. If you want a Russian, don't hire Sean Connery. That's like hiring a bulldog to play the role of a poodle.

We as Americans can't really tell a bad british/aussie accent from a good one, but we can tell when someone is ****ing up an american accent right off the bat. Basically if you sound too proper, you ain't one of us.

It's been a while since I've seen V For Vendetta, but I dont remember Portman's accent being that bad...

His American Accent is better than Mine so I like it. :hehe:

Pitt makes every movie he is in worse than it could have been w/o him.

Josh Hartnett as a really bad Yorkshire accent in a movie called blow dry..
