I'm gunna post a top 5, but I have a couple questions about it, then if the answers that i get will make me rethink my top 5 i will post a new one

1. What is the generaton we are talking about? are we talking 1997-2007, or are we talking actors between 28-42? or what?

Cause my initial top 5 is

1. Willem Dafoe

HOnorable mention: (cause i like him) Mark Wahlberg

If The Departed was the only film I had ever seen with Wahlberg in it, he'd be #1 on my top 5. :(

Can't believe nobody mentioned Jude Law. Guess he got a bit mainstream and people dismiss him

Law has brought justice to modern cinema :D

If I were to go in order Law and Bale would be at the top of the list.

Leonardo DiCaprio
Matt Damon
Christain Bale
George Clooney
Mark Walhburg

THE DEPARTED is going to make Whalburg and Damon bigger household names.
Fantastic movie

Yeah, but there's just certain performances that make me go "My God, that was good like a juicy t-bone."

Depp's had several of those performances for me. Ed Wood, Jack Sparrow, etc. DiCaprio has had several of those performances for me. Frank Abagnale, Billy Costigan, etc. Wahlberg only has Dignam.

I think that's actually why I didn't put Christan Bale on my list come to think of it. Y'know, sure he turned in strong performances in Little Women, Newsies, Equlibrium, etc. But he really hasn't had enough great performances in great movies for me to really consider him a Top 5 actor. Maybe after a few more Batman movies. And a few more indie flicks as great as The Machinist.
